Hardly a surprise since his confidence and form.is so low. Least he had a swing and took responsiblity. Easier to spurn the chance and pass it to someone else. He's probably trying to impress too hard. Can't knock him in those circumstances imo.

Not for me, he twice had a runner and he could quite easily have slipped them in. I agree with your reasons though; he's trying to impress, but it's at the detriment of the team.
