I still have tough time understanding Kenny's logic after not featuring Hendo, Adam, Downing in this game.

Surely we want to see them gel and playing at least 45 minutes in every match until the season starts is required

For comparison, ManU yesterday played Rooney, Berbatov, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Anderson, Jones almost entire game vs MLS All Stars and they will be playing pretty much the same players once again vs Barca on Saturday.

The poorest performance by a Liverpool shirt tonight was without a shadow of doubt Dalglish. Everyone else performed to their level, Kenny was way below. We need to get our first XI gelling together if we're going to beat Sunderland and Arsenal. Not Joe Cole and Poulsen.

Hopefully our shop windows are painted black. The more we play the dross, the less we are likely to sell. Is that such a difficult business acumen for our PR geniuses to pick up on?

I don't think it is crucial but it is helpful.

All other top clubs during this pre-season are playing their top players in all games unless they are injured why not us?

Losing a game is one thing but to show this type of display for 2 games in a row vs mediocre opponents is very discouraging even if we didn't play our best team.

The second unit should be good enough to at least make these games competitive and create some chances and they clearly failed to come even close.

Perhaps you wil see some positives but for me that only good thing is that Aquilani is still LFC player.

There are other little details that I was paying attention to in the last two games. Carroll will for example stop making certain runs because the service is so woeful. By the time Downing and Adam, etc, start making brilliant passes Carroll's brain will be half a second behind due to the poor friendlies which is doing nothing to sharpen it. We'll have gone two games in the league before he's picked up, but we'll have dropped 6 points by then. Etc, ad infinitum.

There is a reason Demento has won number 19 and will soon win number 20. And its not all about the money or luck.

Lousy performance, only 2 games left until the Sunderland opener, conceding goals to beat the band, haven't come close to getting our settled first team out and a pretty awful pre season.

Alot of praise for Aqua once again, personally i thought he was medicore like 99% of our team today. Midfield was completely bossed the whole game. Thought Kuyt was our best player, looked direct and dangerous. IMO he was the only player you could see that you could say was a first teamer.

Insua is such a liability defensive, Poulsen is an utter embarrassment & i never seen a player loss his confidence to the extent Cole has, he is a shadow of the player he used to be.

The thing is, if we'd have brought Hendo, Downing and Adam with us tonight, then the majority of players we want them to gel with would still be at Melwood. Makes more sense to me to leave them there to train than make them travel for a waste of time match.

Carroll, in my opinion, was only taken along to help with his rehabilitation.
