Lousy performance, only 2 games left until the Sunderland opener, conceding goals to beat the band, haven't come close to getting our settled first team out and a pretty awful pre season.

Alot of praise for Aqua once again, personally i thought he was medicore like 99% of our team today. Midfield was completely bossed the whole game. Thought Kuyt was our best player, looked direct and dangerous. IMO he was the only player you could see that you could say was a first teamer.

Insua is such a liability defensive, Poulsen is an utter embarrassment & i never seen a player loss his confidence to the extent Cole has, he is a shadow of the player he used to be.

I thought Aquilani and Kuyt were our best players today. Both tried to influence the game and very nicely linked up on few occasions but they couldn't play alone.

The problem once again was J Cole who gets the ball in the open space and he is either selfish and tries to score from the impossible positions or holds onto the ball too long and passes when our previously opened players got covered.

He's so ****e and the earlier we get rid of him the better off we'll be.

The club have made it pretty obvious that we are struggling to offload our crap fringe players so its pretty obvious why they all played today. Shop window to let them show what they can do. Obviously not a great outcome but the idea is clear

Im fairly confident that we will see the first team in action for the rest of the friendlies so have a little faith

Other than validating that our crap players are crap, I am not sure what the friendlies have achieved until now.

I hope we use the next few friendlies to get our fit first team players to shape and maybe give some promising kids an outing.

Every time i see Cole play i just can't believe how badly he has deteriorated, it's incredible. I thought Kuyt was excellent, Aqua was ok IMO. Better than most but i suppose that's not a compliment ontodays performance.

I know that it was nowhere near our first team but IMO it is very important to have a solid pre season. We need to get off to a good start against Sunderland, as it stands we can't seem to get our settled first 11 on the field together. With injuries and the Copa we have been unlucky in that aspect but it woul dhave been nice for them to get few runs together to get some cohesion there.

As for the likes of Poulsen,Degen,Insua,Cole etc, it is goingto be horribly difficult to offload these players, performances like that don't do them or us any favours either.

I don't really have a clue what Kenny is doing when it comes down to matching the team. Many of you seems to be as clueless as me.

Why even play a game like this when the only thing you get out from it is minutes on the pitch? Play 11 against 11 in training and you get the same result. Minutes on the pitch.

It is only a friendly but letting in a lot of goals in every game, three at least in every pre-season game so far, is very worrying.

Being outplayed in game after game is never good even if it is only friendlies.

IMO Kenny must play the closest he can get to our strongest starting XI in the next game and play them for 60 minutes or so. It is only yet another friendly but it is time the players show that they want to be in the starting XI against Sunderland. Very few players have done that.

The most worrying thing is the attitude showed by the players. No fighting spirit at all. No heart and passion at all. Some of them is playing for their Liverpool future but that really isn't showing.

It is only friendlies but even in friendlies you must show pride playing in the Liverpool shirt.

Kenny's comments after the game

“I think they looked a bit sharper than us at the start of the game. It was the same as at the weekend in that we played a lot better in the second half than we did in the first half.

“But the players worked hard and they’ll benefit from the effort they put in. It won’t do us any harm for the season ahead, but we’ve got to get ourselves a bit sharper, a bit more clued up and lively when we’re not in possession of the ball.”

“I think the benefit is it’s another game. They looked a bit sharper than us and are maybe a wee bit ahead of us. Their season was due to start but I think it’s been put back for a number of days.”
The reds take on Valerenga away on Monday, before a clash with Valencia the following weekend at Anfield.

I just made the same point.

I really hope that Kenny got our signings right this year. I really do.

It's early days, but my gut feeling is that Suarez and Downing will be great this season, Adam will do ok, and Henderson and Carroll will be mostly ****e. We'll see, hope I'm wrong of course (about Henderson and Carroll obviously).
