Yep, and he still managed a goal and 6 assists in just 9 league starts aswell as being the best player on the pitch v Atletico Madrid. He's a quality player, actually think he's made for English football where a lot of it is about movement rather than the Italian chess game.

Well if we're arguing about whether Henderson or Aquilani, Sterling or Downing, Spearing or Lucas then our midfield has some depth to it.

Sort of. Henderson is ****e, Sterling is still very raw but exciting and Spearing is still a midget who needs to show consistency. Still got Raul, Adam, Gerrard, Kuyt, Jonjo so even ignoring Henderson, which is probably for the best, we do have depth like we've not had for years.

im on 30 mins and a couple of things are interesting. firstly the team generall are playing well. i dont think carroll will be a first choice player next season because for me dirk and luis will be the ones playing together. andy is still very young so he wont ming being rotated.

ive been impressed with all of the signings, adam, henderson and downing particularly looks very sharp.

secondly were missing lucas big time and if you take out spearing and put lucas in youve already got a much stronger midfield and a stronger defence.

the result isnt good but certainly the performance is encouraging.

I'll be so ****ed off if we let him go out on loan. Showed again today that he is capable of making things happen when no one else is stepping up to the mark. He deserves a decent run in the team ffs.
