He gave him a new one 2 years ago I think. Wouldn't be suprised if the CL final made up Rafa's mind actually, although I will always remember him fondly as a member of that team and for clearing off the line, he looked way out of his depth the whole night. From that point on he was used an awul lot less last season.
I hope he does well wherever he goes, especially if its a loan deal
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

He signed one after Istanbul. It's set to end in 2009. I guess with us signing Agger, Paletta and Aurelio, Djimi wont have much chance of playing. The same goes for Warnock, but I guess his operation has prevented us from selling him now.Originally posted by MrMichaelHe gave him a new one 2 years ago I think. Anyway, All the Best to Djimi, He might not be the Most skilfull player Liverpool has had, but he never lacked Commitment. He has something that will always remind him of Liverpool. A CL Medal.

That was mostly done to protect his transfer value. He could have walked otherwise. At least we had backup and a chance to recoup something for him.Originally posted by The Red CardinalI thought Rafa rated Djimi - didn't he give him a new contract?
Or did the Burnley pirouette just have that much of an impact???The Crushing Machine MKII

Firstly, thnk people are being a little harsh on Champions League winner Djimi TraoreOriginally posted by SouthAfricaRedHe signed one after Istanbul. It's set to end in 2009. Secondly, Ste wouldnt be interested in a move away fom the club at the moment anyway. He's fully committed to the club as he has always been. He's settled and his wife has just given birth to their first child.
That is all

Well, that depends on what his wages are. Anyone know?Originally posted by SpeedyGThat was mostly done to protect his transfer value."In fact I’m going to make a promise which will be welcomed by many. Um....
If that is the case, then maybe it was indeed a case of Rafa protecting Traore's transfer value...probably explains it then, I've always had a hard time comprehending Rafa's decision to offer Traore a four-year contract..."In fact I’m going to make a promise which will be welcomed by many. Think he got quite a big bump when he signed the new deal. Still, the previous rumour could have been utter bollocksOriginally posted by univofchicagoFor reals???
