    Rodolfo Borrell

I have to say he seems to be a decent guy and an asset to the club. I was worried that he was going to jump ship after Rafa went, but it looks like he is commited to the club

Rodolfo Borrell insists his switch to reserve team boss won't affect his overall aim - to help produce young players for Liverpool's first-team.

The Spaniard arrived in Kirkby with a glittering CV and has since bolstered his credentials by moulding an U18 side that turned heads with its attractive style of football.

The success did not go unnoticed by the Anfield hierarchy and in the summer he was rewarded with a new role that he believes has the same objective.

"This is a different job for me," Borrell told LFC Weekly. "Most of the players in the squad are now men, or closer to being men than the U18s.

"It doesn't change my aim; to push the players on until they are good enough for the first-team. That is what we are all trying to do; Frank McParland, Pep (Segura), Kenny (Dalglish), Steve Clarke, Damien Comolli. And I'm sure it will be the same with the new coach, Kevin Keen. Our aim is to help produce players for the club.

"That's why we communicate so often, almost on a daily basis. We go to Melwood or Kenny, Steve and Damien come to the Academy. We talk about everything.

"We are all pushing in the same direction and when you do that it can only benefit the club and lead to success. That is our aim and we're all working hard to make it happen."

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

What exactly is/was a boot room and why was it separate to the changing room? Or was it the changing room and they just left their boots there?

I concede that I’m probably being extremely dim here, but my thought process is severely handicapped today.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I still don’t get why there was a separate room for boots though.

Initially I thought it was maybe for hygienic reasons, but then why the f*ck would you decide to have meetings and tea in there?

It was Shanklys decision to make it a meeting room. One should never challenge Shanklys decisions.

It was the place where they invited visiting managers to extract information and Fagan, Moran, Saunders & Al were masters at that art apparently. Players would never go there. It was just some room that they use to stick around, have some tea, plot about the opposition etc ...
                Are we winning?

Ok, maybe I should rephrase. I know all about THE Boot Room, but why the need for A boot room?

Hung up boots? Make it a place where no one will bother coming round and annoy them plotting out their tactics for the next game? Who knows mate, we should bring Shanks' skeleton out and grill him about it.

Ha ha, I want a written explanation for the architect who designed Anfield. It's bugging me now.

Wasn`t it basically a room where the senior players put their boots after training/matches. Then the juniors etc (who where given the responsability for a certain players boots) would clean them and make them ready?
So it was just a room for the kids to shine the senior players boots.

I always thought it was simply a store room.

That actually makes some sense. Did other teams have them though?

I think most (if not all) teams had/have them.
