I've got a worrying feeling that Kenny's gonna keep Henderson in.

The Udinese manager pre-match suggested that you need to get on top of Arsenal and break their confidence early. As such I think the Carroll plan seems sound. I do however think we need to concentrate on getting the ball down and playing too and not just look to lump it up to him.Originally posted by Muddled View PostFor me, Carroll has to start; get them under pressure from the kick-off and get Carroll throwing his weight around. The Arsenal defence will focus on Carroll freeing up Suarez to run the channels, even more so if they are playing a rookie left-back.
An early goal would be tremendous; it puts the pressure on them and (hopefully) means we won't resort to lumping the ball long to Carroll. Obviously this depends on us finding a second and keeping a clean sheet after what we saw at the Sunderland match, but I think we need to throw our weight around and for that, we need Carroll to start.
As for Agger, well, that's just incredible. A dead leg? Jeez."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Was on an Aresnal forum at the weekend trying to find if Walcott was likely to start against Newcastle. They were arguing if their team for Saturday was going to be their worst ever since the Premiership began. That was before they lost Gervinho, Song, Gibbs and Djourou.Originally posted by dww View PostI think there is a danger that people are under estimating Arsenal at the minute. While they are substantially weakened they are still a good team with some very dangerous players.

Martin Kelly & Dirk Kuyt both pushing for recall for Saturday's trip to Arsenal.
What the f*ck does that mean? Were they not pushing last week, is that why they were dropped? If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Absolutely. It's finding the balance.Originally posted by dww View PostThe Udinese manager pre-match suggested that you need to get on top of Arsenal and break their confidence early. Whether we panicked in the second half against Sunderland or if it was the easy option, I don't know. Although, in my opinion, it was Suarez who tired making us void of any creativity, tie that in with Downing switching to the right, meant he cut in and the ball that came in at him was a fairly long, flat ball that was played centrally. Enrique tried to find him too early and as Downing went in to the middle and Flanagan lost his confidence, Kuyt pushed inside meaning we lost any threat down the right.
Enrique can take some confidence from a solid performance (and further training with us) and push further upfield to provide an outlet with Downing as, hopefully, he will stay left. Johnson coming back would be of huge benefit, but if we can mix it up with Suarez, it should stop us going for the punt to Carroll's head.
