Thanjk you.

And we started without Gerrard, Suarez, Johnson and Meireles.
I think the players we missed are more influential than those that Arsenal missed.
I disagree.
Raul wouldn't be a starter (still unsure of how much playing time he'll actually get this year if he stays), Kelly deputised GJ pretty well and Suarez played and ultimately his performance affected the result. Stevie is the only one on our side that we missed but I would throw in there Aquilani as well as I thought this would be have been a perfect game for him.
Wilshere, Song, Diaby, Song, Gervinho and Gibbs (Signa would've played RB if he played)would all be starters and would all made them much stronger.
I am not saying that the game outcome would be any different but I do think that stats would be.

Raul would be a starter in my team. Kelly may have deputised well, but that's a credit to us, not down to luck. We've developed him and nurtured him to a level that's produced what he is now. Suarez played 20 minutes.
For them, Wilshere and Song would have played, alongside Ramsey, Diaby wouldnt have got in that midfield. Gibbs is unproven anyway, so nobody knows if he would've had a stinker or not.
My point being, the players we missed are established proven players, who we know have been in our side before and had a positive influence. Gibbs is a kid and Wilshere too (but more effective obviously).
I doubt we'll be releasing many DVD's of the match or telling our grandkids about it in years to come, but what it was was a very professional away performance with Kenny getting the tactics spot on IMO.
I thought we played well.
I agree, and whilst it wasn't a sensational barnstorming performance it was professional and we beat Arsenal away from home. I feel there is still lots to come from the team. I dunno why people are so down in the mouth..? We won away at Arsenal whilst not playing at our best, surely that is a great sign of what is to come this season.
Think of this time last season, this team has come such a long way in a very short time.

Wilshere, Song, Gibbs (he is young and unproven but definitely better option than having Sagna as LB, which also affected them as Sagna couldn't play in his natural role as RB) and Gervinho (Diaby may be may be not), if available, would've all started and they would've made their team much better.
I get your point but I think them not playing and us finishing the game with one extra player (well almost 2 as Jenkinson could not be subbed) certainly helped stats look better in our favor.
The salient point for me is we played reasonably well for sure, controlled the game for sure, but in no way did we look like scoring until frimpong did us huge favour in getting himself sent off. That was a massive turning point. It left loads of space for miereles and suarez to exploit. No one knows if we would have scored with them two on the pitch and 11v11 but for me it wouldn't have been as easy to slice them up like we did for both goals.
It would be a very different atmosphere in here if we drew against that arsenal 11.
Those making "negative " statements have a point, as do those saying we should be happy with the result/performance.

All of which were good chances that either the keeper did very well to save, or that we should've done better with (Henderson should've let it drop for a volley)
They had one proper chance, which came about via a foul that the idiot ref didnt give.
And it was ARSENAL AWAY. Not Swansea, not Wigan, not Norwich. Arsenal.
Supposing the red card hadnt happened and we had drawn - you're talking as if a draw at Arsenal away would've been a bad result. It wouldnt, even a draw would've been a decent/good result, for Arsenal away.

Yet, we won.
dont forget Kelly's shot that hit the outside of the post.
That's my new book. 'Shut the **** Up, by Dr. Denis Leary'. Patients come in. 'Doctor I-' Shut the **** up! NEXT!! 'Doctor, I've got this-' SHUT THE **** UP!! NEXT! 'He made me feel so much better. He just told me to shut the **** up. Nobody ever told me that before!'

before the season started I would have taken 4pts from the opening 2 games although thought we would have won the points differently. This way is better though taking points off your rivals and they play scum next week.

Kelly hit the post, Carroll was unlucky, Henderson should have did better and Downing had a goal disallowed (maybe stretching it a bit with that last one).
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
