I hope they go through. It will take more than a couple of signings in the last week of August to fix them for this season I fear and a drawn out, unsuccessful and ultimately depressing champions league campaign (again) might just sap their zip and fire in the league enough to make the top 4 a tad easier for us
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

They're probably the weakest they've been since Wenger took over. (Is that good english?)

I can't help but thinking Wenger is being scapegoated as the man not willing to spend. Suits the board. Just how much cash do they have?

Haven't read the whole thread, so don't know if it has been explained, but just saw what happened regards "the finger".
When Lucas tackled Pingpong in the first half and got a yellow card from the cunt Atkinson, Pingpong gave Lucas the finger while lying on the grass. I guess our lot had talked about it at half time, hence Meireles giving Lucas the finger after the goal. Superb.

          Yes they will.

          Gervinho and Song both available.

Forgot those but they may not have Nasri.

But his move has fallen through acc to Sky.

Funny when the presenter on Sky went "Its fallen through according to sources we have at Sky..."

              Neville pipes up "Why's that?"

              The tit.

That's bizarre if it has indeed fallen through - word was they'd agreed a fee - by that point, it would only fall through if the player couldnt agree terms, or failed the medical.

But Nasri hadnt even (officially) discussed terms yet, or done a medical.

So what's made it fall through? City annoyed cos he played today? Or just changed their minds about the idea of having a 326-man squad?

Also, Arshavin - quite a decline isn't it?
In what sense? They barely had a shot on target and when they did it should have been disallowed for a foul. It was a perfect away performance IMO and certainly not lucky at all.

Arsenal may well get stronger as the season progresses, but so will we. We have Gerrard to come back, Lucas and Suarez will get fitter and our new signings will have more time to settle.

I thought I seen that at the time but didn't bother rewinding back to check.

I actually thought Neville was quite reasonable today. My expectations were low so that may have affected my impression.

Though he was professional, seemed reasonably fair and didn't demonstrate any of his loathing of LFC. I'd struggle to be as balanced about his lot.

It was always going to be about someone either producing a bit of brilliance or a mistake happening. We repelled them superbly and whilst the first goal had a bit of luck about it, you make your own luck by pressing, working and creating a situation that almost forces a bit of luck for you.

I think we deserved to win.
You answered your own question for me.

I thought it was fairly even too.

We did little more than they did but not enough to win the game until the crucial moment of the game when Frimpong was send off, which ultimately swang the things in our favor as I don't believe Kenny would've played Suarez at all today if that didn't happen.

Him coming in totally changed our approach to the game and in few minutes later we created 2 goal scoring chances which we failed to do for 70 minutes prior (except Carroll header) but we did have a player more + Jenkins was also injured but he couldn't leave as they used up all their subs.

I'm extremely thrilled with the result but I thought our performance until Suarez came in was average at best.

Fairly even, but we produced where it mattered and they didnt - so we deserved to win.

Also, i've not seen many people mention this, but how often in a game at the Emirates, is the possession 50/50? Arsenal normally dominate, but we didnt let them, we controlled it IMO and in the last 30, we bossed it.

I think Suarez was always coming onto the pitch regardless, in fact IIRC, he was taking the tracksuit off shortly before Pingpong got dismissed.

You say our performance was average before Suarez came on, but this is Arsenal away - what did you expect to happen? We werent going to go there and batter them, that doesnt happen.

They created **** all, we had the better chances (and more of them) - what else is realistic to expect at the Emirates? Granted the manner of the first goal was a touch lucky, but that happens in football and Suarez, by being there and putting pressure on them, forced an error. Lucky that the ball bounced in, but not lucky that a mistake was made - that's what happens when you pressurise someone.

Lucky in the sense that we met them early in the season when they have been decimated with injury and people leaving. They're also going to sign players (or at least they should), so they should be stronger as the season goes on. We were lucky to meet them just now before the strengthening occurs.

RTE are saying its the agent fee thing that cropped up the other day......reports in France still expect it to be done next week.
