At no point in his early Chelsea career did Cech ever look nervous or indecisive though, he was exceptinal for his age. Casillas was a phenomenon as well. How old was Buffon at Juve?

Good shout that, Buffon was 23 when he joined Juve - world record fee for a keeper too, big pressure on a young keeper.

As you say though, there are some who are exceptional, but as a general rule, title winning sides tend to have experienced established keepers.

        About 24 I think.

As the saying goes, if you're good enough, you're old enough.

I think Pepe would have been good enough for a title winning side in his tender years.

Balague or Hunter kept banging on all last year that they couldn’t understand why United were interested in DeGea, that he just wasn’t ready for the move. He didn’t mention long shots, but said he’s very poor from crosses, so would probably struggle. It’s obviously far too early to judge, but the signs so far look like he could be right.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We'll probably also be able to add De Gea to this long list of keepers come May.

Only just watched the game in full.

I have to say that a win away against Arsenal has to be good, however, with the side he had out, with the unrest and uncertainty I feel less elated,. I think things were pretty even up until the sending off, we had a few chances and the better possession, but they had a couple of close calls too.

One decent chance for them where I thought that Lucas over committed with a challenge on Nasri who then ran all the way towards the goal area with no challenge at. Lucas followed as if running in treacle.

Kelly was excellent, I really don't understand why Flannagan got the nod over him last week.

Its a shame we had to call on Suarez to make the difference. I still think we're a long way off pushing for the title and I'm not overly confident of getting into the top 4, but I see promise and we'll be there or there abouts. A lot depends on what Arsense does before the transfer window closes.

I dont get this point of view at all - away from home, to a side who hasnt been out of the top 4 for what, 15 years? And who, based on the last couple of years, are better than us - we use our top player for 20 minutes, and he wins us the game - that's what top players/matchwinners are for isnt it? To win you games?

How many sides will beat Arsenal at Emirates, much less so without using their best player?

              Not many at all IMO.

Because Arsenal are in disarray at the moment and we've spent a lot of money. I'm not saying that we should've strolled passed them, but it would've been nice to, just to announce our intent and send a message. As it happened it took a sending off and Suarez to make the difference.

Good result for us yes, I'm just wanting us to give someone a hiding.

He had one brilliant run down the left where he went past about 3 or 4 players. So happy we have the left side sorted now, we needed that. Enrique could be a Liverpool legend. Signing of the season so far.

By winning at their place, restricting them to virtually nothing and having more possession, we did that. Dissaray is a strong word - they were missing people, but they had a strong side out still and Arsenal's kids are always lauded over when they kick people's arses in the Carling Cup, so clearly they werent turning to a bunch of pub players when they brought in replacements.

I think it's a very impressive result and not many will go and do that to Arsenal in their own back yard.

Just finished watching the game again.

Think Lucas' role in this incident looked a lot worse because he looked painfully slow trying to chase back. Charlie Adam actually lost the ball on the edge of the box and therefore was out of position. Lucas was left isolated in the centre and had to push up to try and win possession back of Nasri, but was wrong footed and couldn't make the ground back up. He maybe could have did better, but if Arsenal had of scored then Adam would have been the culprit, not Lucas.

I also played close attention to the other incidents involving Lucas that others seem to focus on.

Frimprong broke through the centre and Lucas struggled to keep up, eventually fouling him on the edge of the box: Before Frimprong received the ball, Lucas slid in and intercepted a pass but the deflection fell to Frimprong. This was quite unlucky and again Adam was ahead of Lucas, so it was up to him to pick himself up and chase back, which he did.

Approaching half time, Nasri was left with a free shot after Lucas missed out on nicking the ball from him. Poor play.

He also lost out on a 50-50 in the second half leaving space for Arsenal to break which wasn't the best either.

Not long before the red, Nasri got past him with a 1-2 and he looked dead on his feet (I was thinking he should maybe come off for Spearing), but nothing came of it as Adam made a great challenge and cleared the danger.

Apart from that I thought he had a solid game. Didn't think there was much between him and Adam, although Adam seems to be getting most of the plaudits. I'd give them both a 7/10 and expect them to get better as the season progresses.

That's my unbiased view on Lucas' performance.

Played well. Some good challenges and some nice passes.
