Surely Wisdom (and a few others) are at the point where we should be looking to loan them out to a Championship or League 1 club where they could get some first team experience.

I think we should be looking to have at least one on the bench every game and now we can't realistically get 4th they should be getting some game time. I don't see what is to lose really. We'd have 5 other outfield players on the bench any way.

That’s the one positive I’m hoping comes from the Arsenal defeat. I said before the game I’d rather get beaten and put an end to hopes of 4th than draw and have it drag on for a few more weeks. I really hope Kenny sees it like this and gives a few of the youngsters a run out seeing as we’ve already secured European football. I’m not so confident he will though, well at least not at this stage. I’m sure a few of our first team players would appreciate a rest before the Euro’s too if we’ve nothing as such to play for.

Wasnt Ayala regularly starting for Norwich, how old is he?

Ayala is 21 and starts when fit for Norwich but he's had several injuries. I do wonder whether some concern in that regard is why we sold him so cheaply.

Agree on all counts. What to do with him though. You rarely see and 18-19 year start regularly at center back for a top premier league club. With Skrtel/Agger and Coates all ahead of him, what will the future hold for Wisdom. I'd hate to see him never given a chance and continually playing reserve football for the next 2-3 seasons. Is it a case of loaning him out to a championship club over the next 2 season or so and letting him gain experience.

I can see where you're coming from.

But assuming that Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger and Coates are all here in three-to-four years time, then Skrtel and Agger will be close to or in their 30's and Wisdom will be early 20's. You don't want to throw the youngsters in too soon (especially at CB) so the transition of replacing Skrtel and / or Agger with Wisdom would seem sensible at that time given their ages.

That's presuming none of these players leave, and we bring nobody in during that time.

Impressed me when he played for us. Would've been good to keep him for another year or two to see how he developed.

The problem for the reserve team anytime i see them play is the apparent limitations and mediocrity in midfield. Coady Roberts and Roddan are very one paced and lacking mobility, athleticism, pace and technical excellence. We rarely dominate in midfield. Terrific options in attack but very limited in the central area.
