i've gone with torres....hate the little gob****e and right now it's a no brainer to choose between LFC Suarez vs Chelsea Torres.

But...when torres first came - he ****ing tore up the league - he was arguably the/one the best player in the world - certainly the most in form and certainly the top striker.

Suarez - two things...one I hope there is still more to come from him...but

two, maybe somewhat controversial - i am stil having some niggling doubts.....i know he is class and quality, but also maybe it's just a bit of negativity in the back of my mind, after being hurt by torres i don't want to get to carried away with suarez so i am not 100% sure yet how it will pan out with him in the long run.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

      can't decide. Different players.

Anyone who can say suarez though has a short memory.

Torres was simply unstoppable and made me think about him a little too much..it was manlove at first sight. Never been so proud of one of our players.

      How things change.

It was great knowing we had THE best Number 9 in the world for a period. Rush was great, Fowler was class, but neither were the world's best in their eras. Torres was.

Luis is as good if not even better. He only needs to stay here for next 2 years for everyone to see it.

As Shaggy said it once I cannot believe it that he plays for us.

I really loved Torres but Luis is something different.

          He's a ****in' ace.

            That's why I dont think it's a fair poll.
            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

              Luis by a country mile...

Luis sets up players a lot and doesn't just score loads. Overreliance on one player scoring loads (Torres) makes team suffer if he's injured/not playing.

Luis gets injured a lot less.

Luis rarely has a bad game - almost all the games he's played for us he's been either MotM or 2nd best player on the pitch. How many MotM awards did Torres get when he didn't score?

This thread is nuts, I agree with all comments for both sides. (I voted for Can't decide)

                  suarez but only just.

whereas torres was dynamite with pace, bit of trickery and finishing little suarez has IMO the complete package. pace, power, determination, finishing, skill but most importantly he is a team player and his ability to pick a pass puts torres to shame.

towards the end of his LFC career it would be a no brainer but at the start, torres IMO just loses out by a bawhair
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I'd be interested to get the players perspective on this. Those that have played with both of them, Gerrard and Carragher in particular. Sometimes its the unseen which a player brings to the table such as team harmony or work ethic.

Both players in their own way are type A personalities (I'd say that most elite sportsplayers probably are). Whereas I think Torres was always looking to improve himself, Suarez looks to put demands on himself and those around him. He is a right ******* of a loser which is what you want in a player.

What I'm trying to say is that he looks the type of player that will make others around him play better.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

Suarez for me cause he's more of an all rounder and not so greedy. He plays for the team instead of his own ego.

It's hard to say reall, because we are comparing an out-an-out striker with a more complete forward. Torres needs to be fed by other players, and Suarez is a players that sits well in both creating chances and finishing chances.

Torres was good for the first 1½-2 seasons for us, and that's the Torres we tend to remember. Since then he was no more than average / struggling top-player and he still is. He did magic for us for a while and the best striker since Fowler in those two seasons, but since he has done nothing to set the world on fire.

Suarez have had a fantastic first 6 months for us, and if he continues he will be a better player IMO. He needs a good partner up front, and hopefully Carroll will become that.

I'd go with Suarez judging by what we have seen so far.

He's made Kuyt look like a complete footballer TBH and that's no mean feat

I don't think Carroll will benefit from Luis's style of game TBH. More of a chance of Luis picking up knock down's (if and when carroll starts to win some aerial ball) and scoring from them. Carroll doesn't look like the quick footed, quick thinking style player that would relish the chance of playing with a like minded Suarez.
