    Suarez or Torres?

I know it's pointless but it's international weekend, I'm ****ing bored and it's an interesting talking point.

Who would you choose if you could have only one - forgetting what happened with Torres towards the end, and remembering him at his brilliant, lethal best for us. And of course the dynamite Suarez we see practically every week.

Poll coming up in a sec.

Suarez, better all-round player and even when he doesnt score, he makes things happen. Gets assists and just has more to his game. Is also younger and has a winning mentality, rather than a sulking one.

Suarez, better mentality, world class in 3 positions as opposed to Torres one and far less brittle.

Oh balls. Voted Torres but meant to vote for Suarez

Probably would have wanted to vote for torres if he hadn't been injured. That really took away some of his acceleration and pace. So Luis

          Naughty idea for a poll.

I can't decide, and I said this in the Torres thread a moment ago.

There's not much in it really. They're different players; Torres was a goal machine who could also beat a man and lay the ball off, Suarez is much more of a creative team player.

To see them both together would've been
I haven't warmed to Suarez as much as I did Torres, as strange as that sounds. Without meaning to sound like a melodramatic poof it's probably because of once bitten and all that.

          Though I still love Suarez.

Suarez. I loved Torres but sometimes his control was awful. He was injury prone, especially when he went away with Spain, and was a bit sulky when things wouldn't go his way.

Suarez does everything and adds so much more to our all round play. He'll bring other players into the game to score goals from other positions, and the effect he has on the team as a whole seems to be huge already.

Torres was the best number 9 I have watched play for Liverpool, different players and equally skillful at what they do (did), but I like Suarez more for the team aspect in what he brings. And he pulled Rafael's hair.

Difficult. They're quite different players; in our current position I'd say Suarez as creativity is more lacking from our team than finishing. They could have been a startlingly good pairing though, they complement each other perfectly.

Torres would have had more than 1 in 22 for Liverpool with Suarez, Downing, Gerrard and Kuyt playing with him. What a shame.

                    ****ing difficult.

Suarez is a brilliant all round team player and footballer. Torres was an outrageously ruthless goalscorer.

But for mental strength and a far better injury record I'll go for Suarez.

I suspect it's gonna be a landslide for Suarez, which is fair enough as I've voted for him too, but I don't think it's *that* clear-cut.

Just in case anyone's forgotten how good Nando was, watch this

note - this poll is just a bit of fun in a boring weekend, so please no moaning.

I think others have already touched on it - Suarez's mentality is what makes him stand out. Torres had a tendency to try *too* hard if it wasn't going his way; whilst he linked up with Gerrard really well, once he was in the final third, it wasn't often he got his head up and looked for other options. Mainly it ended up in the back of the net, but towards the end of his time with us, it led to chances wasted or him losing the possession.

Suarez is more aware of what is around him; I said it in the Arsenal match thread, that the ball he played to Meireles in the build up for the first goal, he played without even looking up - I think he's happy creating goals as much as he is when scoring and he certainly looks to have an infectious personality, a drive to succeed and a win at all costs mentality.

However, if Suarez had Torres' ability to know where the goal is and was a little more clinical, we'd have the best striker in the world. I always remember someone (Spainish Manager perhaps) saying Torres never scored the same goal twice and I guess that can be said of Suarez. We're lucky to have him.

Torres. When he came into a dangerous position, you just knew he was going to score each and every time. And he did. His amazing link-up with Gerrard is also a factor, although this might be a bit unfair since Suarez had no time to play with him.

I'll change my mind to Suarez once he starts taking his hat-tricks.
