So when I think of Torres, I think of a variety of goals - none similar - during a spell that made me think we could win the league, so by default, he's always thought of during pleasant times.

Then Suarez arrived. I don't think he's immediately likeable and you can't help looking back at his historic incidents as brain ninjas - little snippets that are forgotten about, until something happens and it all comes flooding back. But then you start to experience his clear passion for the game, his desire to win and his tremendous ability with a football. I mean, the lad could turn on the proverbial sixpence. He creates his own opportunities and has carried our side for the first half of the season.

Yes, he's a nutter. But he's *our* nutter and I think I've talked myself into making my mind up.

    Suarez.
    Haha, good post.

The first paragraph sums up why it is Torres for me.

The thing I love most about Suarez is that everyone else hates him.

        I still haven't voted
The times they are a changin'.

Its almost like posting results of a poll and getting told its meaningless. I feel your pain.

Before the start of this season I would have said Torres as he was amazing in his prime for us.

Now it is Suarez his ability to create something out of nothing has become more and more evident and instead of defenders working out how to stop him they are finding it harder to deal with.

Just a bit of fun isnt it?

Its like asking who the best footballer ever is? Messi, Pele or Maradonna? And then saying, but they never would have played in the same teams and that was the idea....blah blah blah.....

I tend to agree with all your reasoning but still end up preferring Torres. Perhaps Suarez is the better player but when Torres was at his peak the joys were some how more pure and the goals mean more when your are fighting to win things.

I can imagine that if we keep hold of Suarez and start competing at the top table again then my opinion my get revised.

                    Neither.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

We all prefer to be right and I find it's a useful shortcut.

Good post mate, agree with pretty much all of that.

                                Apart from the last bit.

Still undecided but I think I'd possibly lean towards that ****house Torres. But that's possibly because he was playing in *such* a good team. Difficult one. Shame we never saw them play together but oh well.
