Liverpool to face Glasgow Rangers in October friendly

    Strange timing....

LIVERPOOL have announced they will take on Glasgow Rangers in a friendly later this month.

The Reds will head to Scotland to face the current SPL leaders on Tuesday, October 18, kick-off 7.30pm.

The two teams last met in a pre-season friendly back in August 2008, with Liverpool running out 4-0 winners.

Rangers boss Ally McCoist said: "We are delighted to confirm Liverpool will be heading to Ibrox in October.

"They are a fantastic club and their squad is packed with world class players so I have no doubt this game will capture the imagination of our supporters.”

      Certainly is strange indeed.

Can we leave Wilson there too?

This is the Tuesday after the Man Utd game? I'm assuming we aren't going to put a full strength side out...

            Are we winning?

Must be because we have so few games this season that Kenny is using it to keep the players who dont play as much around the first team?

strange - i could understand it if it was before the manc game - 'free week' for players not on international duty, so give a few a run out.

                      The club listened to me

I hope that we play more lucrative games later this season. A few extra millions wouldn't hurt and some players need playing time.

I don't think a friendly away at Rangers is going to bring us much money in.

Some money is better than no money though Id guess.

The timing of that friendly (3 days after Mancs game) and the fact that we decided to play the friendly in the middle of the regular season is very odd to say the least.

I hope no one gets injured.

Maybe a friendly was part of the Wilson deal
