    Internationals

So who'se involved over the next two weeks?

Agger wasn't called up due to the rib injury

Adam - Scotland v Leichtenstien (a on Sat) and Spain (a on Tues)
Skrtel - Slovakia v Russia (h on Fri) and Macedonia (a on Tues)
Kyut - Holland v Moldova (h on Fri) and Sweden (a on Tues)
Bellamy - Wales v Switzerland (h on Fri) and Bulgaria (a on Tues)
Pepe - Spain v Czech Rep (a on Fri) and Scotland (h on Tues)
Lucas - Brazil friendlies v Costa Rica (a on Fri) and Mexico (a on Tues)
Carroll & Downing - England v Montenegro (a on Fri) and no mid week fixture??
Suarez & Coates - Uruguay v Boliva (h on Fri) and Paraguay (a on Tues)

I'm sure there are others I've missed. South American boys should be good to go, probably arrive back Thursday and train on Friday.

Expect Bellamy to play both games for Wales which would pretty much rule him out of starting against united.

Tough schedule for our key players especially Kuyt, Suarez, Skrtel and Bellamy all playing on Tuesday but I suppose Mancs are not in any better position.

I'm amazed Fergie allowed them to play the match at 12:45 on Saturday after the internationals

I fookin hate Internationals full stop, if i had my way, they would be played at the end of a season and then extend the break for around six weeks given the players and clubs more time to recover.

I realise this would make the new season start a bit later but again, this would be a great improvement than we have IMO. And last of all, i would totaly bannish International freindly's as there a wase of fookin time hell, give me Platers job and it would all be sorted

I can't believe that Scott Carson is one of the best English 'keepers.

                        There's hope for us all.

Oh and I agree that internationals are ****. RedSince1964 called it right with suggesting a summer tourney.

I think the move to Fridays and Tuesdays is good as is playing two games over two weeks. Maybe having bigger groups in the European groups would get rid of friendlies, have maybe 9 teams in a group so all internationals are competitive. Top 2 to go through and 3rd places to play off. Friendlies are really only commercial events and are a nuisance during a season. I like international football. There will always be a club v country deabte no mater what the scheduling is.

I can't see that happening to be honest bigger groups will make it harder for the smaller side to qualify, their chances aren't great at the moment, but this would probably reduce them further. Also as much as I hate international friendlies they give the chance of some high profile games against teams that England would otherwise only have a chance of playing once every four years (Brazil, Argentina etc). These games against big sides must encourage people to watch them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
