Come to think of it, shouldn't Bodge have had a yellow for shedding his outer garment thus? Akin to Balotelli last week...

Granted, it didn't have the immediacy of a face-hand interactivity movement, but still good value for the punter verbally abusing him at every opportunity.
yep I saw that. Brilliant bit of childish tantrum-ery from the bodgersaurus.

        Scharner - Nice dive Suarez
Baggies midfielder unhappy with penalty award in Liverpool defeat
        Last Updated: October 31, 2011 7:13am

Paul Scharner has accused Luis Suarez of diving to earn the penalty which set Liverpool on the way to a 2-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Suarez was fouled by Jerome Thomas inside the area after just eight minutes at The Hawthorns and Charlie Adam stepped up to put Liverpool in front.

However, after the match, Baggies boss Roy Hodgson questioned referee Lee Mason's decision to award the spot-kick in the latest 'diving' incident to engulf Suarez.

The Uruguayan striker has been criticised for going to ground too easily on several occasions in recent weeks, drawing a passionate defence from Reds boss Kenny Dalglish.

Baggies midfielder Scharner is the latest name to point the finger at Suarez and was unhappy with the award of the penalty, which was brought to the referee's attention by his assistant.

        Soft
Asked for his verdict on Suarez's performance, Scharner said: "It was a nice dive for the penalty and that got Liverpool well started for the game.

"It put us under pressure and we weren't good enough to respond.

"He (Suarez) is very good at winning penalties. He's one of the best on the planet, in fact. I had a good view of it.

"If that's a penalty, then you will find 1,500 penalties are given in every match.

"I know it was the assistant who flagged for it and maybe he had a better view than the referee. But there was a general feeling amongst all the players that it was a soft penalty."

I was a clear penalty you prick. I'm sick of all these people labelling Suarez a diver.

Aye, easy option as I've said in the Suarez thread. He didn't even appeal for it ffs. Scharner should concentrate his attentions inwardly & on being less ****.

really ****ing pissing me off people trying their best to 'tarnish' suarez -

How has he possibly dived for that penalty!! HOW! - he clearly is knocked over. - Whether it is a penalty, isn't a penalty, harsh decision or the right decision, it doesnt matter...i said the same re Suarez in the Jack Rodwell incident.....All these cunts that think he dived, i'll challenge every single one of them to try and stay on their feet when a bit fo balance, and i barge into them.

Really pleased for Skrtel, hope he gets an extended run in the team. He deserves it.

In fairness the Rodwell one perhaps takes a second look to see the contact, but there is definately contact, and it would have hurt. The one against West Brom at the weekend was a blatent foul, I can't see how there can be any question, it was a stonewall penalty for me. The only explanation I can see is that people are trying to tarnish Suarez' reputation.

He didn't do anything wrong when it comes to the penalty (he didn't even raise his hands, which is what he normally does when he feels he was fouled) and he still gets accused for the alleged dive..

I'm hoping these crazy insinuations will not impact refs' decisions in the future as every week we have some idiot complaining about Luis in one way, shape or form.

There are so many English players out there that dive in game after game and they get an easy ride. If a foreigner do it then you know what will happen.

Maybe the media should also begin to take a look at the defenders because they are the worst divers in the league. When an attacking player do it then it is cheating and when a defensive player do it then it is good defending.

                      I will never understand that.

It is also down the referees to stop the play acting. Give more freekicks/penalties when the players try to stay up and not go down and you get less play acting.

As it is now players MUST go down easily to get the decision. Suarez should have got one penalty when he was clearly clipped from behind. He stayed on his feet and finished the attack off and didn't get a penalty. He was unbalanced doing it because of the foul.

Clear cut penalty but not given because the player acted in a professional way and didn't play act. If he had play acted then he may got the penalty.

So he should have play acted. The referee clearly wanted him to do it.

West brom were totally and utterly woefully inept at eveything. Yet we could not score in the second half and scraped a lead thought a penalty that nearly wasn't given. Had it not have been who knows what would have happened.

I think we are playing ****e at the moment. Lack of composure anywhere in the final third is costing us. Suarez for all his genius outside the box is a poor finisher. His composure evaporates once he gets a shooting chance.

I am worried about our chances for fourth, we are just too wasteful all over the final third.

What we would do for a Silva type player.

If the penalty hadnt been given, we would've created another chance and scored from it. Oh yes, we did that in the 45th minute, didnt we?

                          'Scraped a lead' indeed

2nd half, we went into cruise control. We didnt score more, mainly because we didnt have to, and also because we hit the post and their keeper made a couple of decent saves.

On one hand we are 'playing ****e' - on the other hand, we need to be more clinical for ALL THE CHANCES we are creating. Sorry, but the two things are mutually exclusive. Sides who play ****e, do not concede loads of chances.

Come out of Armageddon mode, things are fine.

                            - we can't complain too much with the result - for me it was a solid 2-0 win - we always looked the better side and in control, and we got the 2-0 goals, job done - 3 points, move on to the next game and get three points again!

We are still in progression - we started without Gerrard or Carragher in the league! any idea anyone when was the last time we started a league match with neither playing? - away from home too?

There is improvements needed, but as the team starts gelling, we are seeing much better spells of football - compare this to the same time last season and we are a million miles better.

I do however agree with the concerns for 4th - we still need to improve in one or two areas to get fourth.

I feel it's between us/arsenal/spurs - arsenal look the weaker out the three, but i do feel spurs look the stronger - other than suarez, I'd swap our midfield/attack for theirs. -

though obviously we are missing steven gerrard, who even if he got to 80% fit, would piss on their midfield - plus bellamy can be a lot more effective for us if he started.

Adebayor has a tendency to start off well at a new club, score goals for a month or two and then fade away.

He started well at Spurs and scored a few goals. Yesterday, i believe was his 5th consecutive game without scoring.

                              Hmm....

                              I'd stick with Carroll, myself.

And Lennon is obviously quick, but in terms of actual quantifiable output, i'm pretty sure Kuyt produces more.

As for Parker, he's doing very well but i wouldnt swap Lucas for anyone else in the league, for the role he does.

Modric, VDV and Bale are the only players I feel from Spurs that would strengthen our team. I think we are stronger than them.
