Watched the full 90 minute replay on LFCTV last night and here's my player ratings :

Reina 7/10 - Difficult to rate his performance as he had nothing virtually nothing to do.

Johnson 7/10 - Very good from Glen, constantly getting forward down the right flank, he was a real thorn in WBA's side. Had little to do defensively so the questions about his defensive ability have been left unanswered, tougher tests for Glen in the future.

Skrtel 7/10 - Looks so much more assured when playing alongside Agger. Calm and composed from Martin.

Agger 8.5/10 - Class as always from Agger. Defensively outstanding, also his link up play with our forwards was very good.

Enrique 7/10 - Neat and tidy from Jose. Got forward a fair bit and was defensively solid. Another impressive performance from our LB.

Lucas 8/10 - Ran our midfield. Showed a good range of passing, vision and composure.

Adam 4/10 - Poor from Adam. Apart from his set pieces he really does contribute next to nothing in open play. He spent most of the game either strolling around the pitch waiting for the ball to be passed to him or giving away possession with stupid long range passes. I would have given him 3/10 but for the penalty.

Henderson 4.5/10 - Average again from Jordan. He simply dosen't have the pace or trickery to play on the wing. If Henderson has a future at LFC it is in CM, Kenny needs to realise this quickly.

Downing 3/10 - Anonymous. Another weak performance from Downing, needs to sit on the bench for a while.

Suarez 9/10 MOTM - Our new talisman. Virtually every attacking move begins with Luis. Awesome player.

Carroll 6.5/10 - Took his goal well and looked much more motivated than in previous games. But let's not go overboard on Andy's performance, there were long stretches when he was anonymous. Improvement from Andy but he needs to do more.

    Subs :

Bellamy 7/10 - Impressive from Bellamy.

I think you may have tuned in for the wrong match.

And then sulk when he gets dropped to the bench, then will want to move to another club!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Let's not forget that Adebayor is a City player still.

Spurs are probably only paying 40-50% of his wages.

It's a situation which will help City win the league.

Spurs wage ceiling is £65k p/w. Adebayor is allegedly on around £160k with City, so they'll be paying in the region of £95k p/w for him to play for Spurs.

              It's an absolutely farcical situation.

I think it's unbelievable that we won the game comfortably with the midfield averaging a 5/10. I would have given Andy about 7.5 as well, he was a real handful.

I feel it's between us/arsenal/spurs - arsenal look the weaker out the three, but i do feel spurs look the stronger - other than suarez, I'd swap our midfield/attack for theirs. -

Agree that Spurs are stronger in the middle but I think the comparison is unfair, would say this is more closer to it.

It's disgraceful. Adebayor strenghtens Spurs and puts them in a position to weaken City's challengers, ourselves included. No doubt he's not entitled to play against City which strenghtens City's ability to beat Spurs. The clear winner is City. It's bollocks of the highest order that they can hoover up the best talent available and then leave them to rot or loan them conveniently out. That said, we are on the benefitting end of that with Bellamy. It's wrong all round though, IMO.

They were bemoaning Parker's poor passing ability on 5Live's match commentary yesterday. He's combative, but I'd still rather have Lucas than Parker.

The difference being we did actually sign Bellamy though but I agree completely with you over the Man City situation and the loaning of a multi-million pound player to a team in the same league and then stopping him from playing against yourself.

                            It is so wrong.

You should only be able to loan players to lower division teams in your country or to any team in any other country with no stipulations being allowed like not being able to play against the team that actually owns the player.

That regulation was put in place to avoid the opposite problem - having a player play against the team that owns his contract. What happens if he misses a last minute penalty or something?

Man City's exploitation of the rules is incredibly cynical but it's no different to the power of patronage wielded by Ferguson, just a bit more obvious (and a lot more liable to be covered by our fearless media pack).
                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
