I'm happy with a return of nearly 8 points per game.

Of course it would be much more if Adam wasn't so fat and slow and if Downing wasn't worse than a Liam Fox justification but Dalglish must be playing for them a reason even if he is simply too cowardly to drop them.

Parker is for example miles better than Adam in that position. That is the type of player we need in a 4-4-2.

I do hope that Kenny sort that out in January. We need a better box to box midfielder to play together with Lucas.
If Kenny do continue to play 4-4-2 then expect to get more frustrated because Adam is alway in his mind in that position. I'd rather we dumped 4-4-2 in favour of a 4-3-3 but it just doesn't seem to be on the manager's list

it's a good return if you're ok with being midtable. but we should be aiming to come away with enough points to comfortably win the league from each match.

Can't believe the negative **** in this thread after a 2-0 AWAY win.

Some of you lot are a) manic depressives and/or b) crackers.

I mean crackers in an affectionate way, mind.

We aren't world beaters but, in the main, we did pretty well on Saturday evening, certainly better than this thread warrants.

The way I see it we've won three away games this season already and two of them in particularly difficult places to get a result. In fact we took a total of one point from the equivalent three games last season. Yes I know we were against 10 men in two of them but that's hardly our fault. I reckon our home form will take care of itself and I still think we could end up with a home record something like 47 or 48 points. What sort of away record will be required to get 4th at least?

I think you'll find it's that diving cheating racist Suarez's fault as it happens.
              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

The extraordinary 'chances' you are talking about were against the likes of sunderland, norwich and west brom (2 of which we drew through failure to convert those chances). We didn't create much against united and we rarely create easy unmissable opportunites through great team play. It's generally individuals such as Suarez who then misses 80% of the time.

We lack true guile and any real quality (except suarez until it's time to shoot).

I know you like a long drawn out pedantic exchange so i am going to leave this now. We will see end of season how we fare.
Do you not think all good teams go on good runs of results at some point? Spurs are on one now.

Re us against Sunderland, Norwich and WBA - who have Spurs been winning against then, United and City? Oh no, both of those gave Spurs an utter dicking didnt they?

Didnt create much against United??? Did you actually watch the game?

Suarez in on De Gea first half, Stevie's goal, Henderson's easy header, Kuyt's volley from Downing's cross. On another day, we'd score 4 goals. Didnt create much?

You sound like you actually want us to **** up our season so you can 'tell me so'

We've yet to gel/settle and we're averaging 1.8 pts per game or 68.4 pts across a season.

In the last 10 seasons, the following points totals would've got 4th place:

                  69
                  68
                  64
                  66
                  61
                  66
                  59
                  57
                  65
                  67

So we're hardly miles off. You can post the usual drivel about how i "like a long drawn out pedantic exchange" but the fact is i'm pulling you up on something using stats and facts to back up my points. What are you using to back yours up, other than your own doom and gloom?

Christ, if this is what you're like now, god knows how you survived the Hodgson tenure!

You can't compare any season to what happened last season with you know who in charge.

We should compare the results to the 08/09 season because that is the results we should aim at. I know that that isn't fair at the moment but that is what kind of results we must make.

Say that 15 points worse than that is ok. Then next season 10 points and the season after that five points.

Then you also must ask the question if we are good enough to win away against Man U, Man C, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea? We won against Arsenal but if we want to be a top four side then we must at least have a chance to win away against the rest.

We may not win against them but we should have a chance to do it, a fair chance to at least get a point.

Right now if Suarez gets injured and out for say two months then our season is more or less over when it comes down to the league. We are a one man team and that certainly isn't good enough by a long way.

If we beat the other ****e in the league, we'll be top four, regardless of what we do against the other contenders.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Are you happy that we are a one man team? Suarez is carrying us on his shoulders and that is a big weakness. Our whole season depends on him staying fit. Is that good enough?

I love to see us play but at the same time I get very worried every time Suarez get fouled because as I said, if he gets injured then it is bye bye top four.

We should have cover for him but we don't.

We must again splash the cash to get cover in. We can't afford to be a one man team. That is one thing Kenny should already corrected.

Wouldn't go that far as we don't know how we would cope with his loss but there is no denying that atm everything from goals, assists and scoring chances for the most part revolves around Luis, which is another reason why we should buy one more difference maker coz we are in short supply there.

We had unique opportunity to sign Mata in the summer and it is pretty disappointing that we didn't even try.

I hope starting in January, if anyone good is available, we go for a genuine quality as to increase our chances of getting into top 4 we need at least one more game changer.

No we need to compare it against the season where we had our best points total in years. God forbid you dare to compare it against last season and see that game for game so far we are actually up 8-10 points on it and therefore possibly making progress and we certainly don't want to be seen to be doing that with 'those three' in the team
