I like Kelly too just to make it perfectly clear but I don't think the decision to start GJ or MK is our problem.

Weak midfield and the lack of a top notch goal scorer are.
Kelly's a better defender than Johnson. And Glen was dire against Swansea. On merit, Kelly should be ahead of him. And i'm a big Johnson fan. Kelly's performances have been markedly better though.

And IMO i think the clean sheets in the last 2 games has got to do with playing weak opposition, CB pairing doing well together, luck and Carra not being in the starting 11.

I agree it's not a priority issue but IMO Kelly should a starter no question. Johnson will be a good squad player.
I have to disagree as he's been very good in positional sense this year and his defending has been very solid in those few games that he played plus his understanding with Skrtel and Agger has been very good as well.

That said, what you discounted, his offensive skills, Kenny values highly and I would say with reason cause without it we have no balance whatsoever on the right side.

Also he just got back from injury so he still hasn't shown his best and I think once he gets the run of games we'll see even better GJ.

Atm I'd play Glen as a starter as he has been doing well on both sides of the pitch and his experience counts but that doesn't mean if the circumstances change that Kelly should not get his chance.

He will as Glen had tough time staying healthy over the course of entire season and that may easily happen again.

I have no idea what LDP is on about with the 'positional sense' thing, he always seems to pick a little buzz word to make his posts sound knowledgable but it does no such thing. With Johnson it's 'positional sense', with Downing it's 'mentality'. For Meireles, he just simplified it down to 'pussy'. At least the former two are disguised as constructive, i suppose.

I didn't think he was bad against Swansea but in fairness he just got back from nasty injury and it is normal that he's short on match fitness.

That said, it is an interesting dilema as both imo have been very consistant this season but for me Johson gets the nod because of his ability to help the front line but it wouldn't be the end of the world if Kelly gets his chance.

Bottom line, I don't think RB is our main concern.

          Few other areas are definitely.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Glen Johnson turns like a bus? He's one of our fastest and most athletic players.

Glen Johnson is a far better attacking player than Martin Kelly. We are not shipping goals and he (Johnson) isn't getting routinely ripped, although he is suffering from lack of defensive help from the right midfielder. The current back 4 and goalkeeper are not part of our problems at the moment.

Aye, 2 clean sheets. It's the other end where we are struggling.

It's also the 'middle' too; the midfield isn't right.
