Reina as goalkeeper (and last man) will have to clear his lines with an 'anywhere will do ball' when under pressure, Carragher often 'hoofs' the ball when there are other options available.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostLike his first long ball right onto Carrolls head? Why is ok for reina to aimlessly smack it downfield at times whereas when Carra chips it forward its a hoof? Carra was faultless against chelsea. Saying that he is no longer first choice. We're in a lucky position right now with centre backs.
Steve Clarke appears to be doing a good job right now, but like any number 2 you only really know when they leave. After all the defence was always good under Kenny, first time round.
IMO Reina is a better long range passer of the ball than Carragher. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's been a great appointment, fair play. Our defence was looking very suspect earlier on in the season and we've turned it right around. Huge credit has to go to Clarke as the defensive coach, especially considering we don't play a defensive game.
All those plaudits he was getting when he first signed now seem well deserved.K ris90210
