I've explained the benefit of it, it means we'd have him back for a harder game than the 'extra' one he'd miss.

And if you know he's a key player, then you should be able to work out why he'll get straight back into the side when available.

If we draw the game. Suarez will miss one less league game. Our chances of winning the extra league game he is available for, is then increased.

The goal this year is to get into the CL.

Therefore, the less league games he misses the better.

I assume you're not being dead serious here craig, obviously see the benefit of what you are suggesting re suarez, but personally I want a near full strength team to try and first secure the win and second get some confidence in front of goal. as you know cup upsets occur when the other team gets lucky, raises their game and you underestimate the opposition. them scoring a fluke and our inability to score goals could easily end up with us looking right mugs.

Kenny will play a strong team in this as he has for most of the carling cup run. kelly and carra will come in. gerrard will probably start. all good.
