Tbf, we had a huge spend in the I not sure what else you want from them.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostAnd then we might have inflated fees for some potential targets come the summer if they do well at the Euros.
I'm still hugely unconvinced by FSG.

I think a lot of that was down to having a large of money come in from player sales, shedding the wage bill and not having interest to pay on massive loans. I don't FSG put any of their own money in and don't expect them to. The club will not spend beyond it's means.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostTbf, we had a huge spend in the I not sure what else you want from them.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Which should mean we may have an average transfer budget of £30million + sales.
Although with the reported bids for a few extras e.g. Wickham, Jones, it wouldn't surprise me if FSG injected extra finance for transfers as an initial booster to rebuild in the summer of 2011. We didn't get either one of them.
Should be plenty in the coffers, but once things stabilise over the coming windows, it'll be around the £30million mark.

I think we’re destined to always feel like that, whether it be true or not.Originally posted by PTP View Postthe transfer window as whole was pretty deflated.
We need a top striker, a defensive/box to box mid and a pacy creative wide man...
there was not much movement really out there other than stop gaps - so maybe we thought, it's a bit of gamble, but rahter than just bringing in a stop gap, we'll wait and get the players we want in the summer...
it's frustrating though, because it feels like for the last 10 years or more, we are always just one or two players short of having a 'great' squad.
If we can keep the bulk of this squad together in the summer, and add the two or three players we really need we could be close....and i reckon we could do that for up to £100m easily. Sign three top class players!
I know nothing about your gambling history but I reckon if I asked you about football bets you say that you’re always beat by one team, probably a draw too.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We seem pretty sound at the back.
I'd like to see a new winger and striker, maybe replacing dirk and/or maxi. Other than that Lucas will be back, Gerrard maybe handled better and Suarez not being banned for 1/4 of the season.
It would be nice to see Shelvey and Flanagan going out on loan to a decent standard, Shelvey would fit in nicely at Swansea, could develop nicely there.Vive la France

theres no way liverpool will appoint mourinho as manager because although hes a winner, he stands for everything we dont. he is totally classless, he's totally unsporting, and he's just a horrible ******.
he wins but you know its a short term burst and not a long term plan. his antics in spain have been bordering on the insane. he tried to kick fabregas in the head and he (properly) eye gouged villanova.
i think theres a couple of ways to look at this. firstly, we couldnt get the players we wanted in this window because their teams werent willing to release them. Alternatively, the owners wanted to evaluate kennys performance with the investment made over the last 12 months including signing some big ticket players.
i have a feeling that they wont keep kenny on.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

top four is the target.
anything else is just a bonus. if we win the carling cup and then finish sixth then it will be a poor season. if we win both cup competitions and finish outside the top 4 then i think we can say its been a decent season.
john henry clearly said before the start of the season that top four was the target. If we dont finish top four then i believe that they will review kennys position.
A new manager is no guarantee of success. AVB was supposed to be the hottest young manager in world football and yet at times he has looked totally clueless in his formations and tactics in the EPL.
i dont think we'll finish fourth and im not sure kenny will be here next season.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]
