Anyone know our final possession stats? Think it was 71% in the first half - I thought we slipped into BR's style quite nicely. Some lovely possession football.

I heard 70% possession & 92% pass completion rate. Something like 670 completed passes to 270 or there abouts.

Ridiculous judging from one pre season friendly like that, but Suso looks to have it all. That said, I get the feeling Shelvey could be the man to lift off this season. Sterling is a good bit off premiership standard yet.

****ing hell Suso's passing is pretty damn special! I love the way he consistently finds him man and also plays lovely through balls with back spin to slow it down. The number of **** pumped balls that run away from players is astounding.

Jordan Ibe completed 100% of his 13 passes yesterday however completed none of his 5 dribbles attempted

Raheem Sterling's pass accuracy yesterday was 77% (17/22). Completed 2/7 dribbles &
created two chances including one assist.

In 15 minutes Lucas Leiva managed 18 passes and completed 17 of them - 94% accuracy too.

Alberto Aquilani's pass accuracy was 97% Vs Toronto completing 33/34 passes yesterday.
Jay Spearing's highest passing total last season was 68 passes. He would have eclipsed that easily had he played the full 90 mins.

Pass Accuracy for Jay Spearing Vs Toronto was 94% - he completed 46 out of 49 passes. All in 1st half.


Another observation. Only 2 long kicks from the goalkeepers (both from Gulacsi) showing the philosophy of keeping the ball. More change.

I thought that he didn't misplace any pass as well yesterday but didn't think it was 100%.

It's clear that playing without a target man like Carroll, who always want the ball early as he doesn't rely on great movement, helps anyone's passing as well. That's why I think that Carroll will be sold or won't be playing a part this season.

Doesn't mean Carroll can't play a part. He did a lot of his hold-up play with his feet last season.
