He's a good target man, not disputing that, but play a large percentage of long balls when he's playing. This won't help possession based football, the way BR obsessively like his teams to play. He may have an impact from the bench, as a plan B, but I doubt we'll keep a £20m asset warming it.

I know that but can the manager not just tell them not to play long balls when Carroll is on?

Got my tickets given to me about 12 rows up center pitch.

I'm sitting in the LFC supporters end with my wife and kids. Its a huge stadium, about 70,000, interested to see how we do there.

Thought Jay did ok last night. Kept things ticking over and kept it simple in the middle. I see Shelvey got a bit of praise for his performance, but I think Rodgers would have been happier with Jay as Shelvey tried a few riskier balls.

We didn't get much width from our FB's which surprised me, especially in the first half. Not so sure how Enrique will do in Rodger's system, he needs to use the ball better. Auelio would have been perfect for BR.
