He's a good target man, not disputing that, but play a large percentage of long balls when he's playing. This won't help possession based football, the way BR obsessively like his teams to play. He may have an impact from the bench, as a plan B, but I doubt we'll keep a £20m asset warming it.Are we winning?

I know that but can the manager not just tell them not to play long balls when Carroll is on?Originally posted by NigelLG View PostHe's a good target man, not disputing that, but play a large percentage of long balls when he's playing. I certainly don't think Carroll could be like McManamanOriginally posted by Daniel 7 View PostI'd like to see Carroll forcing himself into the reckoning, like McManaman at Real. Don;t know if he has that in him though.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm sitting in the LFC supporters end with my wife and kids. Its a huge stadium, about 70,000, interested to see how we do there.Originally posted by darkstar View PostGot my tickets given to me about 12 rows up center pitch."Our legacy begets an excellence that surpasses the particulars of who produces it." -- David Carr

Also, FAO American Reds-- if you want to scout Roma ahead of Fenway, they are on FSC at 3:30 EST today. USA midfielder Michael Bradley (who I like a lot as a player) should feature for them; new signing."Our legacy begets an excellence that surpasses the particulars of who produces it." -- David Carr

Agree with most of that, but I thought Flannagan was terrible and caught out of position so often.Originally posted by Lee View PostPacheco, Suso and Shelvey very good.
Sterling good but he's very easy to read though.
Flanno and Spearing looked better.
Liking Robinson still.
I've wondered for a while how Enrique will do in the Rodgers 'system'.
Carra very composed.
Aquilani looked okay.
Lucas is back.

Thought Jay did ok last night. Kept things ticking over and kept it simple in the middle. I see Shelvey got a bit of praise for his performance, but I think Rodgers would have been happier with Jay as Shelvey tried a few riskier balls.
We didn't get much width from our FB's which surprised me, especially in the first half. Not so sure how Enrique will do in Rodger's system, he needs to use the ball better. Auelio would have been perfect for BR.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
