On the night of the game I was utterly knackered and pretty out of it.
The frustration got the better of me and I'm ashamed to say I did not appreciate the win.
But I have been loving the stuff put up in here and I must say a special thanks to Mostar as usual.
I think several players were culpable for the first goal, but when Miller got the ball Agger had to step up from the box to confront him as the midfield was nowhere.
on this play there were a couple of mistakes. Firstly, adam was behind the play and if you looked across the pitch as miller plays the pass to the scorer, henderson, gerrard and downing are in a line, but theres a massive gap where charlie adam should be and thats where miller finds himself.
Secondly, when agger moves up to challenge miller, enrique should be thinking of where the balls going to be next and there's really only one place miller can put it, just where agger came from. Enrique should have anticipated that and moved across to the inside of the scorer thus blocking his run. that for me is enriques biggest problem.
because he's so quick he doesnt really have to try and read the flow of the game. he normally reacts to whats happening and uses his pace to get him out of trouble but in this case by not reading the play he didnt have any time to make any sort of challenge.
Adam was poor all game and he's been a liability in defence. going forward he's been ok but defensively he's very very poor and i dont think its something that they can coach into him. he just doesnt look behind and with gerrard very similar there's acres of space for teams to exploit just like cardiff did on sunday.
