It didnt cheapen it at all, we played for a trophy and won it. This dispatch with ease stuff is bollocks, if the favourites won easily every single time no one would care about the sport.

I can see why people dont think we are perfect, we arent, quite why theres such a need to discuss it an hour after a trophy win I dont know and I just cant comprehend what makes a supposed LFC fan log on after the game and say we shouldnt be too happy. Ridiculous.

If you think the way we performed was not worthy of criticism, then you must have been watching something else completely, or just closed your eyes and waited for the result.

DWW - I can see what you mean - but we are a league ahead of Cardiff and have invested heavily in a team that should be able to beat a club a division below within 90 minutes. The fact that we played the same against Cardiff as we did against Norwich, Sunderland and Swansea for example, suggests we may have some problems.

But ok, yeah **** it, we won the League Cup. The run to the final is not just the final - it was laborious today, but every game along the way counts. I just wish we could raise our game more often. Today was tortuous.

We're crap when teams sit back like that. Have been all season. And it was very predictable that a lesser team play out their skins and stick the whole team behind the ball every time we attack.
It was clear whenever we had the ball we were a much better team. Just bottled it too many times when we got into scoring chances, and kept slowing it down letting them get men back.
But you know what - **** it. We won. A cup. No one will remember the performance soon enough. It's been a long time. I'm enjoying the victory!

bewildering comments on here - didn't play brilliantly today but its a cup final and you've got to give Cardiff massive credit for the way they went about the game.

We won and that is all that really matters, been better to have seen a blockbuster performance from us but you rarely get those in finals hopefully we take the confidence of winning this and use it as a springboard for the rest of the season and beyond.

i think it depends whether you view the game as a one off, or just another game in the season. On one hand we did what we needed to do and won some silverware. On the other, we showed the problems that have plagued our season so often. I'm more minded to think about the latter, but each to their own.

Maybe its also why you follow or how you see football; as about winning and tribal bragging rights, or more of an 'art form' and get most pleasure from seeing your team perfect it (even for a moment). Or maybe that's too pretentious.

I just find it weird, and yeah same for anyone else who was posting on there, I can understand in a league game or something but werent you a nervous wreck? Do you half concentrate on the tv and half on your computer? Just think it's weird for a Cup Final, the odd post is understandable to be fair but loads?!

I dont care how we played, Cup Finals are about winning and enjoying the moment, just dont get how you are so utterly miserable.
