Was expecting far more from Luis today... Never mind, do it in the FA Cup Luis!!!!! And Andy Carrolls lack of anticipation and desire to get in the box is seriously worrying.

Today we just had to win, no matter how, and we did it the hardest way possible. Onwards and upwards!!! YNWA
That little dude's an away veteran. I've spotted him a few times.

Dalglish becomes only the seventh manager to win all three major competitions in England.

And won 'em ALL as a player too. First ever.

A quick mention for Downing, as I said in my pre match thread always play the man in form:

Controversially, I'm going to state a case for Downing.

As much as Bellamy has saved us numerous times this season, my adage is you never drop a player who's in from or just found form. One game does not make a legend but he's got the bit between his teeth and is out to prove his price tag. He's also proved he can do it against lower league teams.

I'd rather have Downing play for the first 60 minutes, than bring him on for the last 30 minutes. My heart would sink if we were drawing/losing and all we had to look forward to from the bench was Downing. Bellamy coming on in the last 30 minutes on the other hand is a prospect a half-tired Cardiff will dread.
                  One tit for another.

Not too fussed about the performance, we won, even though we made it difficult for ourselves; that'll give us a lot of confidence for the remaining league fixtures and the FA Cup. Would've been absolutely furious if we'd have lost. I thought this game was screaming out for Maxi, we needed someone to play between the lines to hold onto the ball an extra second to make the final pass or find the space to score the goal. Something which Maxi is an expert at. It's a shame Kenny doesn't have the time of day for him, but regardless we won so there's a reason he's the football manager and not me.

Good to get back in the knack. It's been far too long. Also special mention to Johnson keeping his cool from the spot to hit such a class penalty under a ton of pressure.

Great to win a final after 6 years and be back in Europe , well done Cardiff they never gave up , hopefully we can push on from here and improve our league position.

As for the analysis today is not the day for that , we won so should all enjoy our first trophy in 6 years.
