Merseyside man was stabbed in chest in Camden Town killing at Bar Uno

A Merseyside man who was killed in Bar Uno in Camden Town on Saturday (February 25) died from a stab wound to the chest.

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the 26-year-old man was stabbed at the bar in Inverness Street at 11.55pm.

Medics fought to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are yet to formally identify the man but his family have been informed.

Officers are keeping an open mind about motive and do not believe it was football related.

A post mortem was held at St Pancras Mortuary yesterday (Sunday, February 26) which confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

Four men from London, aged 23, 25, 17 and 28, were arrested at the scene and remain in custody at police stations in north and central London.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information should call police on 020 8358 0200 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Aye it's horrendous. I know Inverness Street pretty well, in fact I'm certain I've been in that bar before. Right by the Good Mixer.

      RIP young man.

I was in there very recently. The girls outside offer free shots to go in and attracts some nasty characters, poor guys didn't know what they were walking in to

The Daily Mail article is pretty upsetting.

                  Horrible news

                  Saw this earlier

A football fan was stabbed to death in a bar brawl after travelling to London to see the Carling Cup final.

Witnesses told of hearing "anguished screams" as Liverpool supporter Alex Jarmay, 26, lay dying outside Bar Uno in Camden shortly before midnight on Saturday.

Police said the stabbing was not football-related but there were unconfirmed reports that it took place just after another group of fans entered the bar in Inverness Street.

Paramedics treated Mr Jarmay, who was from Merseyside, on the pavement outside the bar but could not save him.

The area was busy with Liverpool fans who had come to watch yesterday's match against Cardiff at Wembley Stadium.

Nick Clay, 62, who was staying with friends, said he was woken by "screams of anguish and fear".

The retired teacher, from Ilfracombe, Devon, added: "I looked out of the window and saw three or four police cars, and a policewoman trying to get the crowds back. I heard this guy who was beside himself with grief and anger. I assumed he was the victim's mate.

"He was shouting, 'He can't have gone. He can't have gone'. I saw some paramedics carrying a stretcher, which I presumed was carrying the victim's body, with a red cover on top. Police were around his friend, restraining him, trying to calm him."

Accountant Chad Williams, who lives in Inverness Street, said: "One guy was on the floor outside Bar Uno. The emergency services were there - they were with the guy for 45 minutes."

A woman who works at Bar Vinyl, next door, said police came in about midnight and told staff not to let anyone leave. Customers were eventually allowed out at 1am.

Four men, from the London area, aged 17, 23, 25 and 28 were arrested and were still in custody today.

Earlier on Saturday evening, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed by a gang outside the Holiday Inn in Finchley Road, Camden.

At 4.40am yesterday a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest at Krystals nightclub in Ilford High Road.

Both were said to be in a stable condition today.

I am not anti-London by any stretch, it's an incredible place, but **** me the knife & gun crime there seems almost out of control.

What upsetting accounts of what happened in that article. The "friend" going mad will almost certainly have been his brother, who was with him at the time. Shocking.

You're not wrong at all. The stats can be manipulated in any way Boris and his pals wants but it is getting more dangerous and violent every year.

There was a documentary about the tube the other day. Fly on the wall thing.

At Leicester Sq there was a scuffle on one of the platforms. The station manager went to investigate with camera crew in tow. When he got there, a girl had been stabbed. It took 45 minutes for the ambulance to get there.

They then showed CCTV footage of the incident. She was walking along the platform with her boyfriend and a crazed, frenzied, suited man ran up to her and pushed her onto the tracks. A cleaner fetched her up onto the platform, but she was somehow stabbed also.

It shocked me to the core. Awful.

The last few times i've been to London i've had a knife pulled on me, really is a horrible situation to be in, luckily my normal reaction to just get the **** out of there has served me well
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
