Remember the opening game of the season against Sunderland? Summed up our season so far.

Hopefully we can put some of our chances away this time, but I would not bet on it.

I agree with those saying Coates should start, it's better to have him making the mistakes Carra is making, it can help him adjust and learn and improve.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Hard game but for some reason I've got a good feeling about the outcome.

I'm not sure, if we're only talking about the result, that it matters who starts in our defence. It's often been very reliable.

What matters is that someone finally starts scoring on a regular basis. At the back end of last season we had Maxi and Kuyt banging them in. If we can get another couple like that assisting Suarez then we can finish 4th.

Sunderland without Sessegnon lack creativity, and I think they'll come out from defence since they're at home. I see a victory by a couple of goals, say 2-0 or 3-1.
          Forwards.......

Totally agree, it's a no-brainer. There is no benefit to us or the individual in Carragher making mistakes. At least if Coates makes them he will learn and improve. Coates has to play, not withstanding the fact IMO that he's better than Carra anyway.

It's incredible that people seem to think he's a bit of a rookie and a risk.

I'd give Coates a game simply because he's a left sided CB and Skrtel is a right sided CB. Skrtel has been fantastic in that position all season I don't see the sense in moving him to accomodate Carragher, when there is probably little to choose between Carragher and Coates, but the playing time will benefit Coates and us more than Carragher.

That said I think Kenny will go with Skrtel and Carragher.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Be nice to see Coates get some game time can only be a good thing, although i feel Kenny may stick with Carra because of his experience

This will be a tough game IMO, i can a draw written all over this

Would anyone give Shelvey a run in Gerrards place? Now that 4th is pretty much gone, these young players need games.

Or would a midfield of Spearing, Shelvey and Henderson be too lightweight.

Is Gerrard definitely out? I thought I heard that it was a small niggle and he'd be back....

                      I'd like to see.....

                      ----------------------------Reina---------------------------

                      Johnson---------skrtel------------Coates---------Enrique

                      Gerrard--------spearing---------Adam-----------downing

                      ------------------Carroll---------Suarez--------------------

Both wide players get to the byline and rain crosses into he box........I'd like to see the next 12 league games as a trial to see. If Carroll is ever going to cut it.....iF he is still **** at the end of he year then bomb him out in the summer

I'd rather see Shelvey in the team instead of Adam full stop.

TBH with you all this game and our remaining league fixtures to me feel fairly meaningless, we won't be getting 4th spot with our squad of players and we've already secured a Europa league spot (hooray) so all we really have now is the FA Cup. Sorry if I sound negative but that's just how I feel.
