With all due respect to Carragher, he's done for as a top-level player and has been on the decline for the last two or three years now.

As many of us have said above, Coates isn't a mug. He won the young player of the Copa America tournament last year, and I think I'm right in saying that he played three games and Uruguay didn't concede when he was on the pitch. Someone else might have the stats to hand there though.

I don't get this 'Carra must organise us' thing either. Agger (when fit) is a leader, Skrtel has played for us for five years now, won leagues in Russia and captained his country. We have Reina to organise the back four, and two experienced fullbacks in Johnson and Enrique. Plus having Carra in the team when Agger is out means moving Skrtel to left fullback which shouldn't be done. Coates is a left fullback so it's a seamless transition when slotting him in.

    But that's just my opinion.
I understand where you are coming from. I just think the importance of the game merits our most senior defender playing.

He is no Maldini that's for sure but Carra is not quite finished IMO and this is exactly the kind of game for him.

If Fraiser Campbell has a decent game his movement can can cause Carra a load of problems, apart from that the threat will come from Mclean down the left and Larrson's set pieces

Richardson can be got at playing left back, if he moves into midfield Wayne Bridge should come in

Quite easy to miss I think he's always been sub for them and come on for the last 10-15mins a few times.

Thanks chaps. Must've missed that move what with the excitement of the January transfer window this year.

Yup, I've looked out for Soto but I don't think he's played a minute for them yet.

                        So tomorrow they'll probably go:

                        Gordon
                        Bardsley O'Shea Turner Richardson
                        Larsson Meyler Vaughan McClean
                        Campbell Bendtner

Does that sound about right? We should beat that team.

                          Brown and Bramble out injured

                          Richardson doubtful

                          Might line up with

                          Mignolet

                          Bardsley
                          O Shea
                          Turner
                          Richardson/Bridge

                          Larrson
                          Vaughan
                          Gardner
                          Mclean

                          Bendtner
                          Campbell

Those cunts Campbell and Bendtner will cause Carra problems. I just have a feeling about it - we've history of making **** strikers look great.

                            Kevin Lisbie for one ffs.

Mclean is a cracking little player, And there whole team work hard as ****. Adam comes up against his old water carrier who has also been playing well.

Did marshal the backline well enough at the Bridge a few months back in the league cup for us to win there with a Clean Sheet - Despite all this? Carra' is needed? Don't make me laugh - He's no reason to be near the team on Saturday without Coates being injured. To say he's now a danger to us defensively? Is Understatment of the Decade territory. On Saturday? He shouldn't be within a Mile of the team.................
