With all due respect to Carragher, he's done for as a top-level player and has been on the decline for the last two or three years now.


I don't get this 'Carra must organise us' thing either. Agger (when fit) is a leader, Skrtel has played for us for five years now, won leagues in Russia and captained his country. We have Reina to organise the back four, and two experienced fullbacks in Johnson and Enrique. Plus having Carra in the team when Agger is out means moving Skrtel to left fullback which shouldn't be done. Coates is a left fullback so it's a seamless transition when slotting him in.

I would play Coates even at risk of him making an error as I think that would still serve us better than if that would happen to Carra.

Great servant to the club over the years but to me Carra should be our 4th choice CB and his value to me is more from mentoring younger players like Coates, Kelly etc than from playing at this point in his career.

If Fraiser Campbell has a decent game his movement can can cause Carra a load of problems, apart from that the threat will come from Mclean down the left and Larrson's set pieces

Carra has never been fast player but his spot on organizational skills and ability to read the game and anticipate the plays masked that very well but not any more.

Both Campbell and McLean could cause him big time problems.

Just re-read my post. Why the **** was I calling Skrtel and Coates left fullbacks ffs? Meh, it was early in the morning.

Our biggest issue tomorrow (like all season) is how we set up and who we play in midfield. Defence should pick itself.

You obviously don't know me if your calling defeatist. I didn't say it was totally gone anyway. But I'm a realist. Realistically we won't make it. We are massive odd against for a reason.

I wouldn't discount them.

Yes they are without their best player Sessignon but they had been playing some decent football since MON took over.

It's not an easy game by any stretch.

I know some of their results have picked up, but their style of play is truly awful. A good side should have no problem in dealing with them. Their movement is abysmal too. They have great energy and that will help them, but we need to display some quality to get past them.

I worry that we won't be at the races technically once again to dispense of them.
