Its the shocking lack of responding to the way the game is playing out that worries me. He never seems to make a sub unless we go a goal down or score a couple. Take today for instance, we could all see that it wasn't working and what did he do, nothing until several minutes after they scored. Last week, when the Arsenal defence was all over the place he left our quickest striker on the bench until the 88th minute. What is he thinking?

That and the fact that he's parted with over £80M for Adam, Carroll, Downing and Henderson.

Today's match made me think Roy was in the dugout.

We started well, the link up between Suarez, Bellamy and Kuyt was good to see, but we failed to get numbers in the box regardless of this. A number of times Bellamy broke down the left only to have Suarez the wrong side of the penalty spot and Kuyt the furthest side of the penalty area.

An early goal and we could have knocked the stuffing out of Sunderland. However, they came back in it and we lost the battle in the middle of the park. We continue to look toothless upfront and completely devoid of ideas when we go a goal behind.

Saying all that, Kenny is the right man for the job.

At least that's what it looks like the players have decided. Which says a lot about their mentality. We need several signings who are technically *and* mentally better than Adam, Downing, Enrique, Carroll, etc. Some of them are ok to have in the squad but we need a better spine to build on the Reina-Agger-Skrtel-Lucas base.

Charlie Adam??? Wtf has happened to the confident player of last season with amazing passing range and set piece delivery, he has been hopeless.

Maxi has been horribly underused recently.

Massive summer for the club and Kenny, we need 3 top class players, not British squad fillers.
A wide right, goal scorer and centre midfielder are desperately needed

Gerrard yes, Carra probably not.

Thing is with Rafa, he's definitely, beyond doubt, one of - if not the - most knowledgable about the game. Everyone says it. He's like the stern teacher, but he gets results, because if you don't learn your vocab, you'll know about it. Kenny is obviously the more 'likeable'/'approachable' manager, but I just don't think he's got what it takes to win the big stuff.

I always said Rafa should never have left. It was a shocking decision and threw us back several years.

All his players used to say they'd have the game of their lives, walking off like they were 10ft tall and Rafa would've picked up on something they'd done wrong and work on it. Knock them right back down and strive for perfection.

I just don't think Kenny is anything like that, if anything he probably bigs them up so they think they're better than they are without improving them technically.

I hated football under Hogdson, under Kenny you can see passages of our play that are infinitely better than anything we did under him; we just need to do it over 90 minutes, show a lot more belief and be more ruthless.

players need to be told how to play tactically and we dont seem to have any clue how to break teams down.

I was thinking this while the game was on, We don't seem to have a clue how to drag opposition players out of position and exploit the space.

Bridge was a player we targeted today but not nearly enough, We got what we deserved, The Bitters up next on Tuesday I think? They'll wont need any encouragement when they see a dvd of this ****e today.

You beat me to it. Our first choice back four + keeper stands up to any back 5 in the country; we just need far better quality in midfield and up front.
