It's frustrating that he's sort of in the background largely getting a free pass while Kenny cops all the flak. No doubt behind the scenes he's had to answer some searching questions but for us (well for me anyway) it's frustrating, especially so when we have no real idea who's responsible for what when it comes to player recruitment.

From the outside looking in, it appears he's doing a really ****ing **** job.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's in charge of the scouting system as well as transfer negotiations. I think that's it?

I'm not quite sure what he does.

I thought he was brought in because of his scouting network and the ability to unearth young talent at cheap prices.

I've seen evidence of neither so far.

i remember aking how his role and Kennys would be split in reality (not convinced its actually how we all imagine it is)

I did say if his job is what they say it is, it doesnt appear hugely different to a chief scout.

would the role be different if we had say Klopp or an other?

Yep, so far we've brought in no-one you could consider to be under the radar.

Coates and Henderson are your closest to that.

He was hit and miss with Spurs, maybe leaning more towards 'hit' to be fair.

                    Ill give you that one.

But he was supposed to have come to us with huge knowledge of the French game. Seen no evidence of that yet.

As I understand it, he's the guy dealing with transfer negotiations. So while people can (rightly) criticise Kenny for some of the players he's brought in, I believe that the fees are much more in Comolli's court. And they, really, are a big part of the problem. As I've posted in other threads, who'd be on Henderson's back if he cost £6m?

The other part of his remit is supposed to be scouting, identifying talent etc. Again, our transfers over the last 12 months have been spectacularly uninventive, and that I also put in his court. Kenny, having been out of management for a decade, would hardly have a big network and an eye on players not playing in the prem. Comolli however really should have, that's his thing. So far that's brought us who, Coates? A couple of first team starts. Maybe he'll be great in future, but that's not really enough imo.

There's some areas in which Kenny rightly deserves some criticism. But I am genuinely starting to worry that Comolli is the French Parry.

He's had what - three transfer windows? Coates, Henderson and Carroll I can understand, I'm not sure how much say he had in Suarez? Perhaps we will reap the rewards of our youthful signings?

The thing that surprises me, is our gentle lean to South America; I thought he would be more French.

From what I remember people thought that about a lot of his signings at Spurs but when they gelled they challenged for 4th. I have to say I think that he is more a strength in depth than top end man. I've been developing a theory in which Adam can be read as something akin to Huddlestone and I'm now expecting a pacey young wide player to take the Lennon role and a pile of strikers to appear in the summer.

I think DomCom really needs to pull some blinders this summer transfer window as so far it's been pretty uninspiring, not sure there were many that wanted to see Downing come in. To his and Kennys credit we have shipped out a lot of the chaff from the club and the squad on the whole is now stronger but we still need actual game changers and we simply don't have enough of them at present.

Your right in that he did ship a lot of tosh out. Especially to France. So maybe he deserves more credit than I want to give him.

Trouble is, in football you live and die by results, and were not really seeing any results yet.
