Yep, he's never gonna say "well many of our transfers last summer have proved disastrous". I'm sure some of the **** from last summer will go. Downing to Sunderland for £8m, Adam to Villa for £5m.

Fingers crossed the usual suspects are sent on their way. One of the things i loved about Rafa (when he had some money and options to play with in the transfer market) was that he didn't hang around, no sentimentality - if a player didn't cut it - they were sent on their way at the first opportunity.

Just need 3 more brilliant players and let the rest be the back up. Think everyone expecting Downing, Henderson, Adam, Carroll and everyone else they hate to be replaced will be disappointed. They'll just be bumped down the pecking order.

3 world class players for a first team but we IMO (also) need:

A second left back (to replace Aurelio)
A Centre Back to replace Carra
A Central midfielder
Two Wide Players
Forward/Striker.

We have spent a lot of time recently working on the EPPP (Elite Player Performance Plan) as we felt it was an important step up for our academy.

The wide/creative positions have always been the problem area's.

But never up front. We seem to have always had one striker we could rely on to knock in goals, on at least a semi regular basis.

I would take a Milan Baros, Ciise or a Crouch over Carroll any day.

Interesting to see Alan Kayll, cite the youth products of Heighway. Was there a sly dig in burried there?

DC: We have changed pretty much everything after a thorough review. We have made scouting in the UK a lot stronger from under eight (years old) up to the 1st team.

Note sure I agree with that part, especially the first team scouting.
