I'm genuinelly bemused why Kenny didn't replace a right back with a right back, pushing Carra out there at 34 or however old he is these days was wrong on so many levels.

If Flanagan is good enough and deserves to be on the bench then use him, if he isn't then don't have him there, he'll be thinking today that he can't get a chance when Johnson and Kelly are injured then what is the point.
Do you remember Flanagan early on this season?

He had a couple of mares early on

That said I'd have brought him on and wouldnt have played Carragher

You make allowances for Suarez and I'm making allowances for performances which I believe have been far superior than they were under Roy
I don't make allowances for him, he's our best player and it's as simple as that.

Christ mate, if you're trying to disguise yourself and not be rumbled, posting the same dreadfully poor level of tripe as before isnt going to achieve it.

Wow, when you put it like that, I can clearly see your side of the debate.

Rejoice! I've completely changed my opniozzzzzzz.

            No its not that simple

Hes a forward who doesnt score enough goals or create enough chances no matter what his skill levels are his overall contribution to our results is as sub-standard as the rest of the players

I'm with Lec on this, our results haven't been good enough but the basics and performances for much/all of some games have been.

I also agree on Suarez, while his turn, wriggle and shot for Kuyt's goal was world class and unlucky his attempt when through 1 on 1 early in the game was very poor and not to the standard he is capable of producing.

I also think Suarez is much better with Carroll in the team than without him.

Still, another game to add to the Adam starts we lose stats!

You can try and derail the thread if you like and go over your favourite old ground, but your scapegoating of our best player is pointless and strikes me as more than a little odd.

No matter how you spin it with this "performances" stuff", our league position, our points tally and our goals scored are all completely unacceptable. Kenny has had more support than any LFC manager in recent memory, from fans, media, whoever, and has had more money. Yet we're doing worse than ever.

Still, we passed it quite nicely for 25 minutes last night.

I can remember 3 chances that Suarez created in the last 2 games. Do you acually watch him Lecter?

                    Until the final 3rd

When we would have to rely on something completely unexpected from Suarez

Suarez is the most frustrating player we have (in my eyes)

He has far more ability than most in our squad and yet his failings often completely destroy a lot of the good work he does

His goal last week was great, his turn yesterday and shot fantastic

His miss against Arsenal & yesterday when he was one on one was horrendous

I'm honestly puzzled as to how we get the best out of him

He wastes too many chances to be a striker and imo hes too selfish to be the No.7 other people claim he is

Its understandable but at times there is too much emotion involved when assessing things
This is such a perfect little summary of things, especially after last night.

I didnt post on this thread last night because i wanted to watch the game back on tv, to see if i'd missed things and my initial judgement was skewed. So i did.

And my conclusion is still the same. People have reacted to last night with emotion, which is fair enough, but in the cold light of day, we werent 'disgraceful' or '****' etc, we simply werent. We ****ing battered them and it's the same old issue of chance conversion, a team of even reasonable clinicalness in front of goal would've scored 5 last night.

The same issue keeps coming back and yes, i know the results arent good enough, shipping 3 goals in that manner isnt good enough and without doubt where we are isnt good enough but it's all too easy to allow those things to misguidedly tell you we were '****' in games and that it was a 'disgrace' when in actual fact, no it wasnt.

We pissed all over them last night and barring for a couple of idiotic errors in the latter stages of the game, we'd have cruised to an easy win, nobody would be questioning Kenny and nobody would be shouting 'disgrace'.

The team selected was good enough, the system was working fine and 99 times out of a hundred we win that game, and nothing much is wrong with the night's work. I fail to see how it's Kenny's fault that people made basic daft errors at the back. Short of buying expensive world class defenders who nigh-on NEVER make mistakes, you cant legislate for what happened. Nobody's crystal ball would've told them that Skrtel was going to duck under a high ball and that Enrique would slip - so why should Kenny's?

In no way am i saying it's ok to have lost that game, or that it's ok to draw at home to so many ****e teams, or that it's ok that we are where we are in the table - it's not and things need addressing. But by god, emotion has sure as hell run logic out of town.

Get more quality around him. We need much better and more intelligent wide players, a more attacking role for Gerrard and give him better support than he is currently getting.
