Yeah, that has been a major worry since we've lost Lucas this season, we just don't have the balance there.

No doubts Gerrard will have a more withdrawn deep role as he has to cover for Spearing, that'll mean massive gap between him and forwards. Big responsibility for or wide men Downing & Henderson to get up the flanks and get some service into the front men. Personally i'm not that confident about them achieving that, so i'd imagine Suarez will roam everyone and Carroll will be left isolated.

I don't think he's a liability but most of our attacks breaks down when he goes forward. He doesn't cross well and he just does not know when to release the ball early. He makes good runs but he should be doing way way more with the positions he takes.

He's been less solid defensively of late as well.
