Interesting. If the words are genuine and not just spin until they can sack Kenny at the end of the season it seems most of their blame is on Comolli for the transfers.

somebody hasn't read the scriptOriginally posted by el matador View PostIs Damien's departure a reflection that the ownership group were unhappy with the return on player investment?
I would say we certainly have the resources to compete with anybody in football. I wouldn't want to get specific about any particular decision that's been made. We feel there is enough talent on the pitch to win and, as I said, we've been dissatisfied, as most supporters have been, with the results so far. But we're also talking about the future - we have a strategy we need implemented and we felt Damien was probably not the right person to implement that strategy.
blows comolli's 'family reasons' for departure right out of the water.

We're still confident the structure we've discussed is the right structure. That doesn't mean we won't look at tweaking it, but we feel a collective group of people making football decisions is healthy. The debate is healthy. Part of the reason we made this decision now is because we want to start the process of finding an excellent replacement.
Do you have a candidate in mind for the role?
We don't have any specific candidates in mind. Part of the reason we made this decision yesterday was to be in the best possible position to move forward as quickly as possible.

mate lets face it, we lost around 30m in overpayments which is around three decent players or at least two.Originally posted by Chris View PostWhy has he been sacked then? Just because we overpaid for a few players?
carroll was 15m to 20m max, and downing was 12 - 15 max.
We lost a bucket load because of **** negotiation and yes he should have been sacked for that. my guess is that kenny wanted to know the budget for the close season and when he was told 10m he probably blew his top.
then the fingers started pointing and everyones pinkies were ultimately pointing at comolli. so he had to go by default.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

This part is interesting:
Yet the man charged with deploying and manipulating that talent, i.e. the manager, is basically given a free pass.Is Damien's departure a reflection that the ownership group were unhappy with the return on player investment?

Certainly won't be anyone of any major impact this week.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostSounds like Ayre and Daglish are safe for now.
............
Think Kenny will still be moving on in the summer, just IMO.
Can't we just sack Hodgson again for the fun of it...........was brilliant fun the last time

If Kenny is not to be manager after the summer then he should have another position but not one of Director of Football.
The french mr bean has clearly been sacked and its nothing to do with family reasons. If it was family reasons he would have Resigned. Mutual consent is sacking him but without paying out his full contract. Mutual compensation
Deservedly sacked too, couldnt understand why we got him to begin with. Seemed to be on the recommendation of Wenger
