the only reason to appoint tixi would be a future move for guardiola. otherwise it makes no sense whatsoever.
They won all 6 trophies in 08/09 with him in the team and another league title before he left.

He maybe didn't star like he did for Arsenal, but certainly contributed to a vary successful period.

Also he scored 49 goals and had 26 assists in 121 games (and probably a decent number of those appearences were from the bench). I wish we'd sign some duds like that.

Same with Ibra, 22 goals and 13 assists in 46 appearances is a good return. He was a bit of a cock and didn't really fit in, but calling him a flop is a bit ridiculous, also has 4 winners medals to his name there. I wish we signed a few flops like that tbh.

Ibra started off on fire there, but the form waned.

they signed henry.once he was.past.his.best and zlatan just didnt fit into their style.of play. you may.say zlatan wasnt a flop.but. they only recouped half his fee.when he was sold to milan.

            50% loss is a pretty big flop.imo.

For me, what it boils down to is that Dalglish has said that every player who has come in is only there because he wanted them signed. Comolli got Dalglish his wish. For me, Dalglish is just as culpable, if not more so than Comolli for last summers debacle.

And I don't get this 'French Parry' **** either. Parry was infamous for dithering in the transfer market. Unwilling to budge an inch on price, which in turn, lead to us losing out on several players. How is that in anyway what Comolli has done? If anything he's the anti-Parry!

There are a few people on here who seem to be happy to swallow this whole 'it's all Comolli's fault' line, making him a scapegoat for a transfer window ****up that had Dalglish's fingerprints all over it. Dalglish is a legend, but he's not infallible. Christ, the guy ****ed up last summer. His poor judgement (along with Comolli's) has cost us dear this season. Surely we should all be able to agree to that much at least. It's whether he gets another season is what the talking point should be.
I may stand alone here, but I don't think he did **** up last summer.

Those players have all shown signs they'll come good. It was just a big ask for them all to come in and hit the ground running. I honestly think Henderson, Downing & Carroll will be at least 50% better next season. We signed them on contracts of more than 2 years, so I guess it wasn't all about the here & now.

Dalglish/Commoli/The Owners ****ed up in January by not getting a temp replacement for Lucas & another forward imo. But then another forward would have left less game time for carroll. Plus Kuyt. So its a tricky one.

I agree in regard to Carroll/Henderson, but anyone who doesn't consider Downing a "**** up" needs their heads checked.

                      A total **** up. He's obviously not complete ****, but he's ****-to-average and for £20m you expect a match-winner. He is the antithesis of a match-winner. But not a match-loser.

he hasn't performed for much of the season. he lacks a bit of bottle.

but he shown glimpses of what he can produce. He was our best player in one cup final and was one of our best on saturday. big games & he turned up. He won't be a world beater, but I can see no reason why he can't have a very good season next year. but for some half decent finishing, he'd have about 10 assists this year. I hope we retain him.

I don't think you stand alone mate, but I disagree myself. Part of last summers transfer strategy was to bring in players who knew the Premiership to minimise the 'bedding in' period. I'm sure Dalglish has said as much. Well it clearly hasn't worked.

Regarding the recent signs of improvements, that's obviously a positive, but I've been thinking about what Danny Murphy said last season about us playing without pressure. And I think you could argue that in hindsight he had a point (we all slaughtered him at the time).

We need to be decisive. We can't take the Babel attitude with all the players who have let us down this season. Every season we fail to make the top 4, we're falling further and further behind. These players aren't *that* young. I think a season is a fair period to judge them, and if we had decent offers come in, the only 3 players I'd be gutted to see leave (who've come in under Dalglish) are Suarez, Bellamy and Enrique.

Downing, for me, remains on the cusp and borderline of 'give him time, there is something there' and 'give up on him'.

obviously there are times when you cut your losses & let players go early. But Kenny & the coaches will know when that time is right. The problem with replacing these players with new better players, is they may need time to settle too.

History suggests that a fair number of players are better in the second season. Again it comes down to patience. At the end of the day its my view, I could easily be wrong and they'll be **** again!
