ok, so if roy had us in 9th place playing hodgson ball, you'd back him to still be here?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThe cavaet that continuity is usually the key to success as long as you're not in with a chance of relegation, was a fairly obvious one, i thought.dave of mutilation

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Under Kenny, we've been the better side in more games than not, across the season.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI dont think our league position is where we deserve to be. Kenny had us playing excellent football with results for half a season last year, so i dont see why it's beyond possibility that he could do again, what he's already done not so long ago. Hodgson never had us playing good football.

Erm, if we don't win both our remaining games we are on course for our worst ever prem season. This is akin to a Souness season.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think we're on course for a not too dissimilar amount of points to what we got in both Rafa and Houllier's first seasons, the difference is the league is stronger and it means the same number of points will see you finish lower down the league.
Like it or not we were probably in a worse position when Kenny came in than when either of those two came in, but IMO we are playing better football than we did in both of those seasons. The difference is our expectations have increased because under Rafa we were in the CL every season. We are in a period of transition, I don't think if we sack Kenny things will suddenly turn around. The only concerns I have are that the form has suddenly dropped so much in the second half of the season and the fact we don't have a settled system yet.
To say the league strong is not true imo, City are stronger and Spurs have improved, but Chelsea, United and Arsenal are weaker.
We did yes, and since then we have gone backwards.

I equally don't want to further stick the knife in to Jay, but we all saw how out of his depth he was yesterday. As far as journalism goes that is so poor. We were out of the game until 2 things happened, Jay went off and Carroll came on, it had twice the impact removing our worst player and putting on the guy who went on to be our best. Everyone could see that... And these muppets get paid to watch and write about football as wellOriginally posted by MrMichael View PostAccording to the Express this morning;
Not sure whether to laugh at that or cry...

I don't understand how nearly every thread descends into a debate about whether Dalglish should continue or be replaced. It all seems puerile as I can't see any way FSG will replace Dalglish this summer. All the advice they will have received from people who know the game is that he should stay.
People will acknowledge that this year hasn't been good enough but will agree that to move on requires continuity.
