Kenny has insisted in starting downing and Henderson all season long with mediocre performance after mediocre performance, and we have paid the price for this.

Spearing should never started sure everyone was gutted to see him in the starting lineup, lad is just not good enough and had an appalling game.

Not convinced starting Carroll would have been the answer, but today again highlighted how ridiculous a decision it was to not replace Lucas.

This was the key turning point. Losing Lucas and having Spearing as the replacement. I personally thought he was up to the task after being encouraged by some of his performances but I think that is because alongside Lucas he had almost a guardian behind him, keeping him right and he didn't look so exposed. I have changed my opinion on Spearing and he is nowhere near good enough, we need a replacement for Lucas.

Having Jay Potato Spearing in our starting line-up in an FA Cup Final was pretty shocking, and yielded the expected results. I am very, very worried about Reina, think he's become demoralised the way things have been going the last couple of years and just doesn't put in that extra effort anymore. Carroll, however, was one bright light today and I expect more good things of him next season. I honestly didn't expect to win today, but it's still pretty painful, especially against those plastic *******s.

I think it was just, just completely over the line. But being in the air like that and it being such a reaction 'save' in real time I don't see how a linesman could give it. Carroll should have put that beyond any doubt really.

But yeah, we have had a proper horrible season. You make your own luck to an extent, but still...
