FA Cup Final Post Match

Make no mistake the team selection cost us that game yesterday. Suarez is not a front man who can lead the line. He hovers across the front line and feeds off a top striker. i.e Cavani/Forlan. He comes in from both flanks and causes mayhem. By not playing Carroll it left us an impotent force in terms of holding up the ball and relieving pressure on the defense. Diabolical in my opinion. All season long Dalglish has continued to try and justify his abysmal signings. Downing and Henderson were not deserving of starts yesterday. Both have been shocking for long spells. Kuyt and Maxi have shown more and have been more of a threat to the opposition. But no, Dalglish has to play his favourites. Awful really.

Even with being utter **** for an hour, having the huge handicap of Spearing in the team, plus Downing, Henderson and Enrique being ****, yet IMO we still should've gone on to win that game. We gifted them two goals, they had to do nothing brilliant to beat us, and aside from the goals didn't test us at all.
Couldn't face coming on here last night I was so depressed. Still depressed. A City win today will lift the gloom a bit, but **** me losing a final is a rare feeling for us and I hate it.
I came on here last night to read stuff and thought about posting, but then decided against it.
It feels like Rafa's last season in the Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid at Anfield. Despite the first leg defeat, we were looking forward to a trip to Hamburg for the final as though it was a given. The same with yesterday's game. It felt as though we had it in the bag. We've all been guilty of it talking about two trophies this season.
I can't get over the first hour. Horrendous display which showed all our flaws. Andy Carroll of all people came on and basically said with his display 'come on you shower of ****es. I'll show you how it's done.'

Oh my Lord. Do these people watch the match?Originally posted by MrMichael View PostAccording to the Express this morning;
Not sure whether to laugh at that or cry...
He was literally a waste of a shirt. He was so bad that Gerrard kept having to drop in and take the ball off him. He is bypassed unbelievably easily, misses interceptions, doesn't make tackles, gives the ball away, doesn't protect in the slightest, vacates his position all the time. Essentially he hides. Him, Henderson and Downing all hid yesterday. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

In fairness to Jay.......he waves his arms around, points where the ball should go (usually sideways) and constantly yips'n'yaps his way through every non-performance.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostOh my Lord. Do these people watch the match?

That's a lot more than what Downing does."I will make the boys feel your support"

I'm still gutted but more with the performance of certain players who have yet again failed the club and the fans. Having taken the night to clam down it is fair to say that some of my comments were a bit rash ut after that performance i wasn't the only one. We have a lot of players at our club where by just being in the FA cup final is the highlight of their career.
Andy Carroll take a ****ing bow son. What a player he is turing out to be and gladly is proving me and everyone else wrong. Can't wait to see him crack on next season.
Downing and Spearing need to be moved on in the summer and i can't believe Maxi didn't get a sniff yesterday as he is always getting us a goal when needed. Henderson should not be a starter for LFC and Reina needs to have a long hard look at himself as he is getting beat at his near post time and time again and it is costing us big time. Im not saying he is to blame for the loss far from it but the s not the same Pepe Reina of a few seasons ago.
the point has been made that if this would be anyone else but Kenny we would all be calling for his head and that is a fair point. we just need to see what the fall out from this season will be in the summer. but something has to give as this cannot continue to carry on while we fall further behind. A Cup win yesterday would have just papered over the cracks and TBH when i saw the lineup yesterday i knew it wasn't going to happen.Last edited by Leyton388; 06-05-12, 11:25 AM.

Him pointing to where there ball should go bugs the **** out of me. When he should be demanding the ball he either makes a pointless run forward (hides) or points elsewhere, then when he knows he's not gonna get the ball cos he's in a bad position, he screams for the ball to make it look like he's not hiding, knowing full well he's not gonna get it.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The bottom line is he's not enough to command first team football (even a top top side would want to have stronger options in the squad)."I will make the boys feel your support"

we need to appoint the right manager, a bright young thing with recent sucess and potential, then we need to back him long term. And we need to do it now before our decline is more perminent. Kenny was the wrong appointment imo, I said so in the summer, and nothing since has changed my mind.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostProblem is we need continuity. 3 managers in 4 years will destroy the club far more than what you think.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Kenny will bring us stability until someone else is ready to take over. I think it would be wrong to change manager right now. Kenny pulls everyone together at the club, takes a lot of pressure off the players and rightly so. Some of them are young.Originally posted by Kenneth View Postwe need to appoint the right manager, a bright young thing with recent sucess and potential, then we need to back him long term. He's not the best solution long term but believe me, anyone who comes in has one hell of a job to do. Look at AVB at Chelsea. He failed miserably. He wasn't ready for such a challenge. Kenny has to stay for at least another year. Are we winning?

Nigel, tell me you are joking, right ?Originally posted by NigelLG View PostChelsea are also papering over the cracks. Much more than us IMO. Difference is that they have much more money than us and the glittering lights of London.
Chelsea have major issues certainly but worse than us ?I will always blame Moores and Parry.
