Aye, yeah challegning for 4th spot, winning the FA Cup& being in the final of the Champs League is certainly papering over cracks

They made a change in management that needed to be done, and the under performing players (admittedly some cretins) responded and they have flourished since.

He's not the best solution long term but believe me, anyone who comes in has one hell of a job to do. Look at AVB at Chelsea. He failed miserably. He wasn't ready for such a challenge. Kenny has to stay for at least another year.
But he wasn't backed. If Roman had put his weight behind him and given him a free hand, he could easily have done very well, building a team in his image.

Yes. They have an ageing squad. Lampard, Drogba, Terry and a few others. Much like United.
        Are we winning?

He didn't unite their squad and pissed off most of them. Don't like his character, he's a bit of a cunt.

****ing Drogba is such a lifeline for the Chavs. He's so much better than Torres and you have to hand it to Dimatteo as he's done the right thing (not playing Torres) for the sake of winning. Actually, Chelseas run of form is largely down to Drogba playing more.

It does make me laugh though with the media hyping up Torres and his form (one game!) and he doesn't even get a sniff!!

As for the game, they were **** and we were even ****ter which was really disappointing.

The difference was, for me, they have players hitting form right now while we're just staggering along. For example, for me, reina is the better keeper but, on current form Cech is better.

Ultimately, they don't need uniting, they need replacing and the power base amongst the players breaking. A major rebuilding job. They've managed to stretch the current team in recent weeks and it looks to have paid off, but someone is going to have to wield the axe sooner ot later. AVB should have been allowed to do it imo, but Roman bottled it.

Don't know but they haven't been doing too badly since then though. Those players are still doing for Chelsea, much in the same way that Scholes, Giggs and al are doing it for United. They will need replacing yes but they haven't got the players now to do it yet.

Dalglish blaming youth and inexperience for defeat yesterday. What is this guy talking about.

Reina - highly experienced Spain international
                  Johnson - England international
Skrtel - Played in a World Cup for Slovakia
Agger - Highly experienced. Played in a CL final and World Cup for Denmark
Enrique - High level experience of premier league football
Gerrard - Played in World Cup and Champions league finals
Downing - Played in cup finals before for Villa and LFC. England international
Suarez - Played in World Cups and won the Copa America. Expereinced
Bellamy - Plenty of caps for Wales. Solid international

The only two players who were inexperienced would be Henderson and Spearing and he had better options on the bench i.e Maxi, Kuyt and Carroll if he wanted to start with different personnel or change formation.

Beginning to sound like an excuse merchant.

I really wanted us to win yesterday, but...

the silver-lining is that this season and our performances will be seen for what it was/they were. Fragile, blunt and, from the moment Lucas was injured, unacceptable. I hope that the Club as a whole takes a long hard look at things and is not fooled by excuses about luck or inexperience.

What worries me is that some of the more obvious things could have been fixed in the January window and, by choosing not to do so, the Club sent out a signal about what was important to it (ie value for money rather than top four).

Seems like there's people who want us to become Chelsea.

I genuinely cant believe people think a year and a half is all a manager should get. Christ...

                              Utter nonsense.

People want to see progress and that is where opinion is divided. Some claim to see progress, others claim not to see progress.

Branding one group as wanting us to become Chelsea is just a cop-out way of not addressing their arguments.

Chelsea sack their managers regardless of what they do for flavours of the month if they mess up in the Champions League or don't win a trophy.

Sick of that term. So easy to use. Like calling those who still have faith as having 'blind faith'. It's just so easy and not constructive at all.

Oh seriously, do one. Henderson and Spearing are both young and learning their trade. It was our entire DM pairing and Chelsea played through it.
