Thanjk you.

I keep seeing people saying "take away the...." and i dont get it. Cherry-picking the bits you want to use and ignoring others smacks of agenda-driven viewpoints.
How much credence would it have if i said "take away the league campaign, and we've done brilliantly" ? None.
You count it all, not just the bits which suit.
not in today football craig ....the carling cup in todays football doesn't mean too mush for the big clubs am afraid although it is a trophy and clubs exist to win trophies

Have a look at the last 10 years League Cup finals, see which clubs have contested it and tell me the big clubs dont care about it...
"Today's football" is exactly the problem really. We went 6 years without a trophy and yet some are still arrogant enough to dismiss the League Cup as nothing.
Ah, the League Cup doesnt make the cut. Funny that.
I'm quite sure, had we won yesterday, the FA Cup wouldnt have either.
am not trying to argue with you craig just trying to show you the general view from football in this era which is money and success at the top top level ....am glad we won the cc cup and gutted we lost yesterday
Ah, so you're comparing us under Hodgson, with now?
Northampton vs Winning the Cup. Hmmmm.
ok, so its not about continuity, its about levels of success. Roy was **** enough to be sacked after 6months, but Kenny hasn't been to be sacked yet. People disagree on the last point. Different opinion, it is allowed.

We are nowhere near as bad as under Hodgson but the league position is what we should be judged on.
We're 9th place, 17 points of champs league and 14 points ahead of the rlegation zone. We've lost as many games as we've won and have won as many as Aston Villa.
The Carling Cup does not make that any better for me (I am obviously glad we won it though).
Concluding that the manager is the 'wrong' manager after just one full season, is incredibly short-termist, foolhardy and Chelsea-like. Even more so when he's delivered a trophy.
as we've covered before, I believed he was the wrong manager when he was appointed, and there is very little that has happened this season to change that view.

i'm comparing utter **** to still kind of ****. i don't even want him to leave necessarily, but since as you say continuity is the way to success even when there's a manager many don't think is up to the task...well that's just an over simplification, isn't it? continuity is only going to do you any favours if you've got the right man.

Roy had us humbled by Northampton and in the relegation zone. The target was a top half position FFS. The two are beyond comparison.
