Thing is, Suarez has hit post/bar plenty of times and anyone who watched what happened at Carrow Road last week knows he isnt a 'bad finisher'.

He's not a bad finisher, no. But he not consistent either...

Hasnt been, no. Was in Holland though.

There's undoubtedly a big burden of pressure on Luis to score goals for us, given that hardly anyone else does so. Without that, i wonder if he'd be finishing well on a more consistent basis.

If Carroll carries on improving and adding goals, i think that may well benefit Luis when it comes to taking chances too.

Wasn't he the left hand of a three piece attack though?

Not stranded on his own all bloody day - which I know is a factor...

Well he wont be stranded on his own if Carroll plays.

              Kenny's big mistake today...

With hindsight perhaps, but i dont think many would've gone in against Chelsea with 2 CMs against their 3.

                  Was never going to happen.
                  Are we winning?

We have had an element of bad luck this season. However I disagree with the premise of this post.

Missing so many penalties and hitting the post is not bad luck. It is indicative of poor finishing, coaching and bad mental preparation.

I also disagree that we have played sublime football. Knocking the ball around effortlessly is not sublime football. I think one of the reasons we play that way under Kenny is that the opposition is happy to let us do that. Barcelona play sublime football, Madrid play sublime football. We don't. Sublime football is when the passing leads to the opposition defenders getting ripped apart. While we have dominated teams on possession, the number of games where we had clear cut one on one chances and missed has been far lesser.

We may have been unlucky for some games of this season. But we have been more poor than unlucky.

We could have gone with the same team except with Suarez playing on the right instead of Bellamy and Carroll as the lone striker instead of Suarez. Bellamy (or Downing) can't play on the right side, it's a position that IMO we lack anyone (Kuyt used to play there but isn't the same player he used to be). Suarez used to play a similar role for Ajax. I've mentioned a few times that we should try this, although the cup final probably isn't the game to try it for the first time But I think that this would have been more effective as our right side was almost non-existant, and would have allowed us to keep a midfield three.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Kuyt has barely been used as a RAM this season though.

So there isn't anyone who has been playing that role then - even more reason to try Suarez there

A golfer (Gary Player) once said something like this:

Critic: "You are one lucky guy"
Golfer: "Yeah, incredible isn't it. It seems the more I practise, the luckier I get"

As the golfer alluded too, it wasn't luck, it was just hard work on his game. If Liverpool put in some more work, their luck would improve.

They are unlucky atm because they're not good enough. Simple as.

Matt Le Tissier scored 48 out of 49 penalties. Was he lucky 48 times? No he was just bloody good at penalties. We miss them through lack of ability. And we hit the post and miss chances because we're not good enough to put the ball in the back of the net.

                            Luck. Rubbish excuse.
                            Forwards.......

I don't think it's as definitive as '**** finishing' and dismissing it as such is unfair.

Football has *always* had an element of luck, highlighted by players superstitions. Such is the fine margins involved, players aim for the corners; to constantly hit those inches that keeps the ball out isn't bad finishing - at what point does it become psychological?

I obviously don't know what levels people have played football on here, but haven't you ever had games where the keeper has a blinder or you keep hitting the inside of the post or the underside of the bar and not score? Well LFC have had more than one game of this.

I'm not happy with our league position, but having watched our games and considered the margins, I'm positive the table is lying.
