When your winning games and you have enough quality it seems you have more luck, because everything is better, crossing isn't a foot too high or too far. Players anticipate following in rebounds, and not being flat footed. Saying we've hit the woodwork 33 times or whatever, how many of those have been 'should score' moments and therefore bad finishing?
We've had most chances or whatever that stat is, how many of those shots have been in the corner, powered under the keeper and unsaveable?
When your playing bad, don't have enough quality and want to remain positive, luck does seem to be a good excuse. But it's only made up for tiny part of our season. The rest has been down to the players and the management.
