    Sometimes i miss St.Mike

Don't get me wrong i'm still majorly pissed of with Michael Owen for:

Number 1. ****ing us about before his move to madrid(delaying contract talks etc)
    2. Not holding out for a return, instead joining a mediocre team in Newcastle, however he still is and always will be a big favourite of mine.

He was in his prime when i was just starting getting into football and single handlely won us football matches on his own on many occasions.
I miss his speedy runs into the box, i miss his clinical finishing, i miss his celebrations after he scored, i was fcuking devastated when he didn't rejoin us in the summer of 05

People often bang on about Owen really just caring about England but he loved Liverpool Football Club, no two ways about it.

It really is a pity the way things have turned sour on the lad in terms of Owen's relationship with Liverpool fans, it really irritated me that he was never shown the same affection as some other players at the club.

    Thoughts?

Was an excellent striker for us no doubt, especially at a time when we needed a 20ish goal a season striker in our team.

However it's obvious LFC doesn't rank as highly on his priorities list as other things such as $$$ and playing for england. If it did he'd be back with us now.

It remains to be seen if he can come back and be great again, but I think his time might have passed which is a shame for football, but only has himself to blame in some respects.

Welcome your opinions lads, that's what it's all about but i'm talking about Owen on the pitch, not off it.
Don't get me wrong i was happy witht the reception he go on his return to Anfield - chorus of boos.

I would have bitten your hand off to get him back once.....not anymore though. I think we have moved on as a club as so much has happened since he left and in a way it feels like a long time since he played for us.
Also can't help but think the amount of injuries he has had mean he will never be the same player.
That said he was great for us, you can't deny that, and I hope he makes it back to full fitness.

So am I. He's benn injured for so long I doubt he'll come back as strong. And WTF is he doing in Newcastle? Shows he lacks club ambition and that he's only interested in his England Career.

In that case, I miss his quality on the pitch, but wouldn't exactly welcome him back now, if Bellamy doesn't work out, he would be a decent replacement for him (or Robbie if he's off at the end of the season)

I love the guy always have always will.

he gave me so many great memories and for that I will never turn my back on him, no matter how I felt when he left us.
I still believe he will come back 1 Day.
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Bill Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: "Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!"

So many great Liverpool players have flown the nest in the past. I will only ever hold a grudge if a Player fails to give 110% before moving on and the excelling at another club....

That is the only thing that grates me.
or unless they move to a Bitter Rival.

"You reep what you sow" - Lou Reed.

Lets be honest he's had a nightmare since he's left us.

Then again the way he conned the club, and the fans, then took the money at Newcastle instead of showing some ambition, he deserves everything he gets IMO.

He'll never play for us again. I seriously doubt he'll ever be the same player again after that awful injury.

Apart from Steve McManaman has any player who's left Liverpool gone on to be a success? He should've known better.

What bugs me about him - as much as anything else - is having made the decision to move to Spain, that he didn't stick it out and make a proper go of it. Instead he listened to those veiled threats by that imbecile Sven about his England place, and moved to a joke club. Yes he's been unlucky with injuries, but he's only got himself to blame. What was he thinking?

Was never, ever world class; and never the instinctive finisher people said he was. Scored a lot of goals, which won us a lot of games. I never realy like him to be honest. His last 18 months for us really showed hius character; both on and off the field.

One attribute does not a player make. Certainly when it's pace we're talking about.

Surely him scoring them goals that won us alot of games made him world class, no?
