Well he's no Henry but he was a great player and a class finisher.

One attribute, i seem to remember Owen scoring gaols with his right foot, left foot, headers, volleys, scissor kicks, all types of goals.

Henry misses a ****load of chances. A worldclass player Henry is, but a worldclass finisher? No chance

He was a brilliant poacher and a clever player albeit quite one dimensional. He's the modern version of a model pro - trains and plays hard, but appears mercenary. Whenever he talks about LFC I always get the impression he loved his situation at the club - with all his mates around him, living in his nice Cheshire mansion, playing regularly, winning things etc - rather than actually loving the club itself.

Put him in the same class as Sheva in Italy or Morientes in Spain in their primes? Really?

Still, I'd take him on loan to cover Crouchy

However it's obvious LFC doesn't rank as highly on his priorities list as other things such as $$$ and playing for england. If it did he'd be back with us now.

It remains to be seen if he can come back and be great again, but I think his time might have passed which is a shame for football, but only has himself to blame in some respects.

To be brutally Honest he peaked as a player in Saint-Etienne in 98 with England against Argentina with that goal.

But he was never in Robbie or Rushies league. Not for me.

I would take the 1998-2001 pre-hamstring problems Owen, but now? No thanks.

Certainly not, but how you can say all he has/had was pace is beyond me.

Cisse has never come remotely close to having the goals per chance ratio Owen had at his best. The only Premiership player I ever recall regularly having a better ratio in that respect was Alan Shearer. Owen was a brutally clinical finisher of moves. That's not just the shooting ability, but the movement and awareness too.

                            very true.

Only if Arsenal paid his wages though. Bloody french players have eaten into our pockets enough over the years...

Strength? First touch? Creativity? None of those were particularly strong.
