Really grown to like this player.

Great to see him with a ball at his feet again.

Still have that nagging doubt about whether he'll hold back a bit now after such an injury, but he did talk about that not so long ago, saying how he'd have to make sure his game didn't change through fear of going in hard, so he's concious of it.

you'd have to be but just like after any longish injury, need to get over the fear factor
            RIP IRWT post/rant, best ever

Aparently they can do ACL recos with only keyhole surgery nowadays. I had a patella tendon graft on my right acl a couple of years ago that left me with a 15cm cm cut up the front off the knee, closed with 21 staples. Sexy.

Is grafting a light sabre to the elbow a normal part of the treatment for a cruciate ligament injury?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Great to see Lucas back in training again, his loss was massive last season.

Spinning to a positive outlook, without that injury I fear we would have been fending off a number of other clubs trying to sign Lucas.

                          He's the archetypal ugly duckling.

This is true, I had my ACL done 2 years ago. Just have 2 little scars, one where they took a graft of my hamstring tendon/my new ACL and one where they screwed the new ACL in.

Is Lucas coming to the USA/Canada? Wonder if we'll see him...

"He'll have some involvement," said manager Brendan Rodgers when asked about Lucas' role in the North American pre-season tour that kicks off on Saturday against Toronto FC. He's still got some way to go to get back to where he was before the injury, but he's back two months early.

"This is normally a nine-month injury. He's been back in seven, and that's great credit to his work and the work of the medics here. We can feed him into some of the games and increase his mental capacity to improve, because obviously it was a serious injury [but] he's making great progress."
