I think that Pepe not being in the squad is even more interesting - yes he was part of Spain's Euro 2012 squad but he was on the bench for the entire tournament, he's not part of the Olympic squad, added to the fact that he is a keeper so why would he need extra "rest"?
It just doesn't add up to me...

Because he trained every day with Spain, he hasn't had any time off and probably needs a holiday to allow him to recuperate.

Trained everyday with them, was with the Spanish team for the whole tournement so his holidays started later than everyone elses. Not really surprising in the slightest.

I doubt there's anything sinister in it. Probably just being afforded a slightly longer holiday as he's an LFC legend already .

I think the fact that Borini is a new signing means Rodger's will be keen to integrate him quickly.

Don't know, possibly cos Reina played more than twice as many games as Borini did last season? (this is purely speculative) or as Pablo says, intergrating a new outfield player.
